It does change, but it floats around 10 Mexican pesos to 1 USD...

noew, 5 USD in mexican pesos would float around 50 depending on the exchange rate, 5 Pesos would float arounf 50 cents USD...now, i'm using a general average on the exchange rate, but it floats around the ten dollar mark, give or take a peso or two. This may change, but it is a rule of thumb when I go to mexico...until the exchange rate changes more on the drastic side i'll keep that as my rule...

It changes day to day due to the exchange rate. Go to this site, which is a currency converter based on the current daily exhange rate. Just choose your amount (5) and then choose that you want to convert from Mexican Pesos to American Dollars

So for 5 pesos, you are looking at a whopping 46 cents

Mexicans don't use dollars so you must be comparing the mexican equivalent of 5 dollars with the original 5 dollars.
