Being nice is important, but it doesn't head the list.

LOL. I just rented Red Dwarf season 1. Whatever Rimmer says is correct. To question him would not be nice and thus you'd defeat the point of life. I wonder if it's nice to eat other animals? Or do you mean the point of human life not all life?

Well, this question teeters on the philosophical of many faiths so please don't burn me if I offend.
Life, as I understand it is like an egg. you're not hatched yet. Life is to determine what you evolve into in your next life. The bible talks about an immortal, indestructible form, but what it does and where it go, is up to you and your environment. So, " to be nice" is good for your karma, but there's is so much more. The harsh truth is that you have to do unkind things for the greater good. I don't like to talk about these things, because I"m sure we've all been on both sides of that metaphor.
But in closing, " being nice " is a simple answer to the question. " To grow in to some thing great and positive " would be mine.

I hope this helps, best wishes.

I strongly disagree God does not say to be nice to oneantoher he says to love one another being nice and pleasant is good.
To make a difference in life is the point of life to serve God is the point of life, my mission is life is to share the joy of the Lord not to make everyone happy because you can't and you cant please everyone. One of the reasons I had a nervous breakdown is that i was loving and pleasing everyone else and not caring for myself.

To be nice and kind is good but that is NOT the only point in life see Matthew 5:3-16. Just a note many see Jesus and a kind nice person and he was and still is BUT when the religious leaders of his day were oppressed the people he called them out on it and told them off. Sometimes you have to take a stand.

I think that it is a behavior that will lead to the point of life. "Adam fell that men might be and men are that they might have Joy." The joy man might have is eternal life. This comes through righteous living and the atonment of Christ. So being nice is a par tof that.

well i dont think being nice is the point of life but the point to life is to learn from it. I think that if you are nice to people, people will be nice to you and if you are not nice people will do the exact same thing to you

I guess I am not nice enough to give both of my kidneys to people that are in need. How about survival? Wouldn't you do everything that is humanly possible including not being so nice to stay alive?
