That depends. Does either person want to convert? Do you share the beliefs of that faith? You should not convert just because your future spouse is of that faith. As far family goes, you can't please everyone all time. Follow your heart!

Converting to another religion is basically saying you renounce your faith in the religion you were before and now accept the new religion to be truth and will follow it's doctrines and or laws. Neither one should convert if they do not match the criteria stated above. Your family does not have to approve of your religion anymore than they have to approve of your choice of spouse.

As an unbeliever, I don't think of converting for a person you're going to marry. That's not a reason to convert. I've had a Catholic girlfriend, and neither of us ever tried to change the other.

It´s not an e-z question because in order to convert , first, you may have to de convert from your current belief and how can you do that? How deep are your or your partner´s convictions? Maybe you should pray about it for God to give you the right answer. God bless you!!!

I would not be willing to do so. I choce my faith based on a lot of soul searching. I wouldn't abandon it so easily.
So I married someone who shared my faith before we met. Not saying it's the only way, but it worked for me.
