Where would be the best place in the world to do flight training? I already have a private pilot's license and would like to continue on with my training, but I just can't afford it, especially with the rising costs of oil and fuel here in the U.S. Would it be advisable for me to relocate to an oil-rich Middle-Eastern country such as Jordan or Saudi Arabia for this purpose? (having already lived for two years in Central Asia, I'm prepared for the geographical displacement and culture shock)...or should I just tough it out here in the states?

Well, the Pilots I know got a Degree and joined the Air Force as an Officer. Here they HAVE to fly so many hours a month to receive their "Flight Pay" and fuel and maintenance is free. Plus they get to fly state of the art aircraft. I know this may not be what you want, just an idea.

Embry Riddle in So. Florida is really good. Some schools like Utah have flight programs. Join AOPA as a student pilot and you will get a ton of that information in the mail. Delta Connection Academy promises to put you in a pilot's seat, and in the end earn pennies flying Delta charters through someone like Chataqua Airlines. Prepare to clock a lot of hours doing training others to fly as a CFI as in this competitive job market, seniority is everything and new pilots are a dime a dozen for ailing airlines.

Come to Ottawa, Canada. There is a place here called the Ottawa Flying Club (OFC) that does flight training all the way up to Instructor Ratings. It is quite affordable compared to other places around the worls and is the oldest flight school in Canada. Many foreign students here because it is so affordable.
