The universe doesn't have a consciousness to care WITH.
I have such a consiousness and am caring.
What point are you trying to make by falsely linking these two completely different issues together?

Most of the universe...not so much. I'm not certain my cats care about me, much less that asteroid that might crash into the Earth in a few decades.
