At least one good question in this insane jungle !! Thanks

Core philosophy of hindus (as in Gita & Upanishadas) confirms there is one God ---Like Islam accepts

Hinduism adores fastings (on Navaratras, Sivaratri/Janamashtmi etc) - is like fasting by muslims during Ramazan

Gita tells to surrender all your work to God and dont care for results - In a little different way Islam teaches the same thing...to do all for Allah

In Higher philosophy of Hinduism (like vedanta, Sankhya etc)...there is no place for idol worship - Like Islam professes

there are many more.. but i hv to reply to others too :))

NIL is the similarity between these two religions . islam was founded byy a person and hiduis was not founded by any single person at anyone time . Hinduism was not called a religon by the so-called hindus themselves . It is aculture grown with the people of the inida subcontinent and was called as Hinduis by Arab traders and euripen visitors .
There are vast funbdamental differences between these religons . Hinduis sees God as one Ominipresent , Ominipotent and ominiscient . That is why the Hidus are able to see god in all formas and in all things animate and inaimat . the hidus believe that everything in this world is one and the same . the dust to diamond , the gtrass to gold . Science has proved this thought as correct only in the 19 th centuray. All mater in the world is made of elements and all elements are made of atoms and all atoms of all elements contain the same components withot any exception or difenrce . Only when the number of components vary the elements difer in quality . The matter changes from one to another depending upon the number of the lectron and proton in th eatom of the lement But electronand proton of all the lemnts re the same Even things that apparently seem to be lifeless are brimming with energy . The hidu s could understand it even some 6000 years ago. That is why they are able to see /god in evey thing and in any form that is appealing to every individual.. But islam does not beliee in the Omnipresence of god and does not allow the worship of gd in any form . It says tht the animals have no souls . wher as hiduism says that every being has a soul and god id himslef the soul of everythig animate ans inanimate . That is a scientific truth .Hinduis considers sx as an act of procreation and considers it as sacred dutry and of very little pleasure . But islam considers it to the only and major partof the life and the greatest pelaesure and purpose of humanity . so It offers to the followers a heaven nmuch like an air-conditioned suite of a star hotel where the beliefers wold be served with cool drinks in oeverflowing silver cups and dozens of young damselve with swelling breasts ( sorry - it is the specific expression in the vese itself ) and of equal age to enjoy for eternity . This the only purpose of going to heaven (vide chapter 78 - Al Naba of the holy quoran)
But Hinduis opredicts the meger of the sould with Paramatman of the god , the Great Atma to be gfree from the cycles of birth and death in this world .it does not offer any sex to the Atma. the soul of the persons .
Hindism does not advocate violence for anything and counsels only tolerance and patience and sacrifice with out any expectation in rerturn, The God also does not expect and thing from the man and it is the man's actions that gives his good or bad .That is result of one's karma . the man himself is responsible for his actions and crsates good or bad for himself .
On what points ther could be similarities between these two religions except that in both ther eis a God and there are men. Absolutely nothing else .

Hindu gods Rama and Krishna and their sacred book the bhagavadgitha do not preach non violence as a means to oppose evil. they openly preach violence to kill the opponents. in the same manner Islam also defends violence for self defense and jihad. Hinduism says after death in heaven good people get the company of rambha, urvasi and menaka, dancers in the heaven and people in heaven always enjoy their company and drink amritha, one type of wine. like wise Islam also says after death people who died for a noble cause , jihad get the company of 72 virgins and can drink pure wine.
