WINE SPECTATOR REVIEW

Winery: Freemark Abbey Score: 87

Wine: Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley 1999 Price: $32
Country: California
Region: Napa
Issue: Oct 31, 2002

A mix of rustic earthiness and complex wild berry flavors, this is sleek and elegant, well-focused and balanced, finishing with a slight metallic and coffee bean edge. Drink now through 2009. 12,531 cases made.

I live right near there yet I've never tasted their offerings. Have you seen their newsletter?

My new favorites are a couple of Suisun Valley wines - and Newlan right off of 29 near Yountville has a really nice cab.

Lush aroma and rich taste of boysenberries with a hint of roasted chestnuts. The finish is smooth with a distant taste of dark chocolate and spice -- quite pleasant. Its color is clear and deep, most notably as a beaker of rubies.
