Many graveyards in france have headstones with the dedication 'Unknown Soldier' - there were that many unidentified soldiers on both sides they had to put that on their headstones.
I think the biggest memorial in France is at a place called The Menin Gate.
I mean to visit the graveyards in France one day - I'd like to show my respect to all those young men who died. Although I am 42 years old and far removed in time I lost relatives who I never knew in both World Wars.
I think it would be a very emotional trip and certainly, one day, will pay my respects
