Because its all about modesty. Some muslims just have a higher since of modesty than others do.
Its the same as arguing if people should be allowed to walk around nude... because if they want to, its their choice right?

It's an easy thing for folks to pick on because:
1) Because it's so overt, it's immediately obvious who the Muslims are and makes them easy targets; and
2) the implication is that, because they themselves are not covering their heads, that they'll be looked on as being overly proud, or vain, or not living up to their god's wishes, or whatever. Most people don't handle it too well when others point out their shortcomings....

Because it's stupid, plain and simple. It's not about modesty as everyone thinks, it's about tradition and ritual. Why not shave your head bald if you don't want to show your hair? If you want to wear a scarf because you like the way it looks, fine. If you wear a head covering because you claim that it's modest, you're mistaken.

And in the USA you can't walk around in public nude. It's against the law.

No one cares really, We just find it a little uncomfortable but it's their choice. However, it does become a problem when they insist on taking an ID picture with that veil on!! I mean, doesn't that defeat the purpose of identification??

I think with the current state of the world, christians and muslims are now split so there is a lot of prejudice that is what it is about in my mind

no you can't walk around nude, what would all the elderly and childern think? and the turban that they wear looks stupid in my opinon.
