Cool question. Without these energy sources, I imagine the world population would hover around 10 million people. Agriculture might be solely subsistence. Health Care would be terrible, but dentistry still pretty solid. My developed hometown would be on the prime lands of the Seneca Tribe. What the world would lack in environmentalism it would gain in spirituality. However, with human ingenuity, I would guarantee we still had some delicious beer :)

As almost all machines work with fossile combustible fuel energy, I could tell you that would be total mayhem.

We would back to the 1700s if humanity won't find an efficient solution quickly.

Since wood is a combustible fuel, it would be like before fire was discovered. Miserable indeed.

But perhaps you meant before heat engines were discovered. I include steam engines here. Then it would be like the 1600's. Better than the poor cave men eating raw food and shivering through winter, but not good by today's standards.

Dont worry,there are many scientist working for the alternates of energy.
Anti-gravitational force,for the moving objects.
Solar energy using for cooking food and cross-road signals etc.
Water energy it is extensively used in Electricity Projects.

Yes, we would be more conscious of the importance of our Nature, we would safe energy and use it only for productive activities and First World countries wouldn't be so rich!

I have never actually wondered but they would have surely invented something better or similar by now. Humans are capable of acomodating their own lives to a more easy way of living

No, it would be mostly like it was in 1800. Horses, oxen, human power. Much slower life, much less production.
