I've heard people getting diagnosed with Restless Leg Syndrome, but I have a feeling that it is a BS diagnosis meant to sell drugs.

I am awakened sometimes at night with my legs either jerking (spasms) or with pain in the nerves up and down the outside of my legs and hip. Sometimes it starts as a heaviness in my groin area and I know whats comming so I take care of it right away.... It is very uncomfortable and has caused me a lot of missed hour of sleep. Sometime just getting up and walking around or massaging it helps. Even had a heating pad help a time or two.
When it is really bad I may take a hot shower or an anti-inflammatory, maybe both, and within an hour or so I can go back to bed.

I don't know if any of that would work for you or if this is what restless leg syndrome is. I have never gone to the doctor for it and choose to take care of it on my own without a prescription.
