I am a Christian, and I am against abortion, as well as against war. But in the Word of God, in Matthew Chapter 24, it tells us that in the last days, there shall be wars, and rumors of war. To me, this means that we are living in the last days just before the return of the Lord. I do not know exactly what the owner of the truck meant by "give war a chance," but my personal view, as far as the war which we are in with Iraq at the present time, is that I think that some of it, and maybe all of it, is unnecessary. I can not see from the president's position, so I may be completely wrong. But I cannot see that we are accomplishing a thing by it, and it looks as though it will never come to an end. It sounds like some nut would put this kind of sticker on their truck. I do not know exactly what they meant, but all that I know to do is to pray to God that He will give this nation guidance and direction. But He can only give guidance and direction to someone who wants to follow. And I am not so sure that too awfully many people in this nation want the guidance and direction of God any longer; as bad as I hate to have to say such a thing. But I believe it is very true.

Calling yourself a Christian or even believing that you are a Christian is easy. Now behaving like a Christian is much more difficult. I can not recall anywhere in the New Testament where Jesus Christ suggests that people engage in a large scale war where thousands of innocent people are killed or maimed. As I remember he said something like "Love thy God with all thy heart and all thy soul and love thy neighbor as thyself." Now how that translates into "give war a chance" seems like a complete distortion and perversion of his message. Of course, there may be a new edition of the New Testament floating around that I'm not familiar with where he included some additional chapters.

You must be in the south, right? Maybe Texas. I saw a lot of those bumper stickers when I lived in Texas. That's why I moved to California. More diversity of opinions out here.

Though I mock all religious fantasies, I try to limit my real spite and disdain for nominal Christians who would utterly embarrass Jesus with their ignorance and asinine attitudes. That kind of crap pisses me off on all sorts of levels, but primarily by ignoring Jesus' most central and noble teachings. If you're going to ignore the Beatitudes how can you remotely claim to be a Christian?

If you're interested in how a christian might think, why not read the Bible? You'll get alot more pertinent information about christians, than from a bumper sticker. I think they have them with pictures if you can't read well.

It worked to get rid of Communism in most of the world so don't knock it.
Ask any Iraqui Christians that live here in the U.S. Or any Kurds-It beats the heck out of seeing your kids put through the chipper/shredder by Saddam and His evil sons.

Don't worry. War like you've never seen it is coming. It's called Armageddon.
And the Lord will come with ten thousands of His saints to execute judgment upon all and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committted and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against Him. Jude 1:14-15.
Of course, the goodness of God will be leading all men to repent until that day.
