I am under alot of stress,Hubby is in Iraq, and I am not eating that healthy I have to admit. I just don't understand why it just started to do this? What can I do to stop it,or make it thicker again? Stress and poor diet can certainly cause hair to thin, read this link:
http://www.webmd.com/content/article/78/95829.htm
try taking Biotin, also called "Vitamin H", it is used for hair loss in patients with thinning or balding conditions, make sure you take at least 2500 micrograms or 2.5 milligrams [same thing] daily.
There are also specific hair vitamins you can take,
GNC has a supplement called "Ultra Nourishair" that makes the hair grow faster, you can read what's in it by googling it. Be warned these pills are HUGE and you have to take 2 a day.
Also ProCaps labs sells a "hair skin and nails" formula that does the same thing, supports hair growth and health, and is smaller and easier to swallow.
If you take only Biotin [sometimes known as "vitamin H" ] alone, make sure you take at least 2.5 milligrams or 2500 micrograms [the same thing] a day because thats' a good amount to take. I use the Nourishair supplement from GNC now and my hair is growing faster than it did, but it took about 6 to 8 weeks of daily use to see results

Stress is certainly a contributing factor, but don't assume. Women at age 30 and above are often prone to thyroid issues (hypo, hyper, etc.) Thinning hair is a sign of hypothyroidism (too little endocrine in the blood). If you exhibit other signs: swollen thyroid gland (swelling around the neck on either side, just below the voicebox), lethargy, sudden changes in weight - see an endocrinologist. If you have a history of Hashimoto's Disease, Graves, etc., in the family, then definitely check. They can treat most of these conditions with a small pill.

Stress pa;y a strong roll in hair loss. You diet also plays a key roll inthe health, shine, body and overall appeareance of you hair. You must eat well to look well. If this is a genetic thing (did your mom lose a lot of her hair at around the same age or maybe a few years later?) than there is really not a lot you can do. If it is not genetic, than you are in luck- try Nioxin. they make a shampoo and condition hair care regiment specifically to treat early hair loss in men and women. they have a liine for color treated hair as well.

Stress can cause hair loss, and there is such thing as female pattern baldness that sometimes happens to women around your age. Try relaxation techniques such as exercise, massage therapy, or spa style baths. If relaxation does not work, see your dermatologist. he/she should be able to suggest a medicine that will help.
Also, use good shampoos and conditioners. A volumizing shampoo and conditioner combo will give you the illusion of thicker hair. I suggest Pantene.
Vitamins like "hair" from the Wal-mart pharmacy may also help. GNC also makes a formula for women called "hair, skin, and nails" that helps as well.
Good luck!

Stress and diet play a big role in the health of your hair and scalp. If you are unable to handle the stress see your physician for medication that will help you come to terms with the pressures and anxieties you are feeling, eat a healthier diet, and take a vitamin supplement. I wish you much luck and pray for the safety of your husband.

Stress is a big cause of losing hair. If it continues to get really bad see a Dr for an opinion. God Bless your husband for fighting to keep our country safe. You should ( & I'm sure you are) be very proud of him. I pray that he will return home safely.

Worrying about it will just cause it to thin faster. If you are a fan of the Tigers or Yankees, you could wear a baseball cap. But not the Padres. They aren't going anywhere.
