Many atheists probably do believe that love is spiritual. I don't, myself, simply because I don't believe anything is spiritual.

Removing the frontal lobe eliminates the ability to love, hate or much of anything else. Love is a chemical reaction in the brain, it is not spiritual.
And, who said atheists were not spiritual?
Atheists do not believe a Supreme Being exists, but that does not mean atheists cannot or do not believe in spirits, ghosts, magic or anything other than a Supreme Being does not exist.

I see some say "Love is an emotion"...I disagree with them.
Love itself is not an emotion but in LOVE, emotions are involved.If you love someone, your emotions will be involved...
Your love for someone comes from these two roots:
1. His truthfulness,love for good, righteousness,his desire to serve what you serve etc or
2. His ability to do evil,untruthfulness, his ability to get away with evil...Actually this not even love, IT IS LUST! Lust seeks to please itself without honestly considering how others will be inconvenienced...
People who enjoy the company of those who do evil usually reveal what their hearts are already filled with...EVIL.No evil tree can produce good fruit...A dog produces a dog, a cat a cat etc.
You love someone based on what you personally value...If you value God,your love for someone else will be directed by Him...
But if you value this modern over-rided liberty for evil, pride and love for money, you will love people who live that way, your girlfriend, wife, friends will be along those lines...
Here is the nature of TRUE LOVE:
1. Comes from God.
2.It is better than gifts.Many people love others because of their abilities and not because of their hearts.Abilities do not join people...Love does!
3.It is not PROUD.
4.Does not put itself first but the one it loves first.Lust puts itself first.
5.When you love someone, somehow you are patient with him/her in his/her mistakes.
6.Love does not think evil.It does not think that someone is out there to attack you until he proves so.It does not suspect your wife/husband is cheating on you just because you saw him talk with another woman/man.
7.Love seem to be able to carry all things.Whether your man has money or not, you still receive him.Whether your child cannot get "A's" at school or not, to feed your pride,you still love him.

Depends on your definition of spiritual I suppose. I never said it wasn't. Then again, I'm also a Taoist. If you're one of those that says you can't be spiritual unless you worship the God of Abraham, then I'm afraid anything I say will be lost on you regardless.

Love is the end result of an electrical charge brought about by positive stimuli. That doesn't make it any less good.

I love Tarzan , when i was a kid, And it died because an angry religious man poisoned it. Tarzan was a dog. When i was 16 , Betty was my love. But Betty loved Andrew , My mother used love my father first and later she loves us more than my father. But finally we all lov each other..
