Subject: FW: Democracy

About the time our original 13 states adopted their new constitution, in 1787, Alexander Tyler, a Scottish history professor at the University of Edinburgh, had this to say about the fall of the Athenian Republic some 2,000 years prior "A democracy is always temporary in nature; it simply cannot exist as a permanent form of government.

A democracy will continue to exist up until the time that voters discover that they can vote themselves generous gifts from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates who promise the most benefits from the public treasury, with the result that every democracy will finally collapse due to loose fiscal policy, which is always followed by a dictatorship."

"The average age of the worlds greatest civilizations from the beginning of history, has been about 200 years. During those 200 years, these nations always progressed through the following sequence

1. From bondage to spiritual faith

2. From spiritual faith to great courage;

3. From courage to liberty;

4. From liberty to abundance;

5. From abundance to complacency;

6. From complacency to apathy;

7. From apathy to dependence;

8. From dependence back into bondage "

If the Senate grants Amnesty and citizenship to 20 million criminal invaders called illegals and they vote, then goodbye USA in less than 5 years.

I already knew that, talk about a huge amount of votes and new people in the governemnt who dont understand we cant just give handouts to everyone. It would be a nightmare.

You make a good point there young lady, but I still think that a democracy can work if enough people involve themselves in the voting process and avoid being sucked into unethical situations by unscrupulous politicians.......

I agree with Mark, and when you think about it, it's true. America is in for a Big change if amnesty is passed. Hasn't la raza already told us so?? Haven't some of California's politicians already stated as much, heck they are trying to form their OWN Hispanic gov. in the states!!! How much more proof do people need??

Yeah, Mark Twain said it too: "Democracy is a wonderful thing until people learn they can vote themselves money."

And your point is, what? What do you think (?) you're acomplishing by baffling all your rants here?

There's nothing you or anyone can do to stop immigration. If you don't like it, better start to buy some land in Northern Canada, baby.

Greetings from Mexico (borders seem to shift like desert sands, love)

That's a fairly accurate sequence of events, except your illogical attempt to connect it to illegal immigration. Also, the United States was not formed as a democracy (mob rule) ----- it was a republic.

We are currently moving from complacency to apathy. I fear you may have a point.

Hell, we're well on our way to collapsing from within -- illegals or no illegals.
