Forget coffee as it is an artificial stimulant and it's effect is short lived.
When the alarm goes of get straight out of bed, no 5 minutes more. Wash or shower straight away with warm water and at the last rinse use cold water. Only for 10 seconds.
When dressed ready to go out drink a glass of water and then have breakfast. have a good breakfast and still no coffee.
You should be ready for anything.

I know alot of the time it can seem a great challenge to wake up in the morning especially if your mouth is so dry the could shoot 'Lawrence of Arabia' in it and your head feels like there is a french man living in it. The worst thing you can do is open your eyes. It's like when you were young and you used to take the cellophane wrapper from a Quality Street toffee and hold it over your eyes. It is even worst if you have a hangover. This is due to the fact that the only real cure for a hangover is death.

But i do love my sleep. Its like death but without the long term commitment. I always try to go to bed early too as my favourite dream comes on at nine. But i have often wondered if anyone has ever had a boring dream. Also people who say they slept like a baby clearly dont have one.

For you see the amount of sleep required by the acerage person is about 5 minutes more. I often need 8 hours sleep a day. And ten hours at night. But often enough seven beers and two scotches and its funny how sleep comes all on its own. Laugh and the whole world laughs with you. Snore and you sleep alone. But my parents are the worst. They snore so loudly the almost inhale the curtains. What really bugged me is that i missed my nap today, slept right through it. after all a good cure for insomnia is to get plenty of sleep. not forgetting last night i dreamt i ate a ten-pound marshmallow, and when i woke up the pillow was gone. No human beiung believes that any other human being has a right to be in ben when he himself is up.

the easy way
ginseng with your coffee
it normalises your blood pressure, so puts the caffine in ALLL parts of your system. Don't try more than 3 a week. You'll get hooked.

the hard way
wake up 30 mins early . excersize for 15 of those minutes. You'll get more out of life.

Have a plan of what to do a bit different from the night before. Have a reason to get up, and waking is easier. Get out of the mundane rut of Home - Work - Home. go to work a different way or on an earlier train, Etc.

Apple juice contains more "wake you up stuff" than coffee. I find a good, warm shower, a healthy breakfast, and a cup of apple juice helps me wake up better in the morning than a cup of coffee.

Go to bed 9 hours beforehand.
Tap your head on the pillow the number of times for the hour you want to wake up, so 7 times for 7 o'clock etc.

I find that a warm shower works best for me, especially when the last thirty seconds or so I turn off the hot - but not the cold - water.
If I don't have time, a glass of juice -- orange or grape -- gets me through til lunchtime.

A nice hot shower...I think I know where you're going with this, but I pretty much had to give up on that when my kids started waking up at 6:00...

Go to bed earlier each night and you will wake up naturally feeling great - otherwise have a cold shower - that will wake you up soon enough!

i always leave my stereo on timer - that way you wake up to gentle music rather than a screaming alarm! Then i get up, have a shower, then have a cup of decaf tea. Other than that a good "snuggle" under the duvet with my husband always wakes me up!!!
