Freezer burn is a food-quality issue, not a food safety issue. It appears as grayish-brown leathery spots on frozen food. It occurs when air reaches the food's surface and dries out the product. This can happen when food is not securely wrapped in air-tight packaging. Color changes result from chemical changes in the food's pigment. Although undesirable, freezer burn does not make the food unsafe. It merely causes dry spots in foods. Cut away these areas either before or after cooking the food. When freezing food in plastic bags, push all the air out before sealing.

yeah, mostly loss of flavor, also could start to spoil even though its cold.
I figure why not just eat fresh food. It costs the same. Just shop every day or two. The food is WAY better that way. Leave it in the store instead of the freezer. Just check whats missing and buy a few items every day instead. Maybe cheaper even.

It is not dangerous. The "burn" is a loss of moisture so that part of the item will not cook properly and may taste "funny". If the item is something like a bag a peas, run warm water over them, remove any that are very white and, if the smell is okay, cook them with a little added water. For meats, trim the burn away and use unless an unpleasant odor has developed.

I don't think it's dangerous, but I think the cellular structure of the food is damaged, so the quality is deteriorated.

I think it has something to do with the bacteria that the food has in it. Because of the chemical change the bacteria can multiply faster and cause you to get sick.
