There are plenty of "Good-guy falsely imprisoned" films, such as Shawshank Redemption, and the TV series "Prison break", but here is my double-question:
Has anyone really escaped from jail only to prove himself innocent of the original crime? And have they then been pardoned or re-arrested for breaking out...?

(And I mean mainly LONE break-outs, rather than the "Prison break" example - as that would be allowing real criminals to escape)

I suspect there is no legal out for someone who has escaped from prison, whether he or she is innocent of the original crime or not. That said, I don't consider an escape from prison any less moral than escaping from a violent kidnapper.

I don't think any innocent people broke out of jail. Most of the ones that do break out are hardcore criminals. I have yet to see a good guy break out of prison. I guess its just entertainment.

Im not aware of anyone breaking out of prison and proving their innocence...except in movies.

And, regardless, breaking out of prison is a felony. You will be re-arrested and prosecuted for it.

And for the record, that show prison break sucks. Why would anyone watch a show where the finale is the title of the show? What do you really think is going to happen? He is going to break out of jail! LAME!!!!!
