When you do it, can I follow you with a camcorder?
Please??

Edit: Why are so many Christians severely confusing free speech rights and the concept of one's property being PRIVATE?

I am an atheist I have no time at all for religious groups of any denomination, I often enter this forum (uninvited) and express my point of view without really giving a shi* about whatever Christians etc thought about it!
I tell myself that the only reason I do this is because they seem to 'pop up' in every other category and spout a load of drivel! This really pi**es me off!
However when I was a young lad, (and even then I was an atheist) I left home and ended up in 'big bad' London
I stayed in the Salvation Army hostel as a last resort, a (Christian institution) no questions asked, who are you? what have you done? do you want to repent? none of that cra*! I was fed and had a bed to sleep in for a very small cost! Until I got myself sorted out!
If a Salvation Army caller ever knocked on my door they would be treated politely and with respect, (this is not an open invitation to all religious nuts just a gentle reminder that there are some good folk still in the world even religious ones)!
Nothing at all to be gained by treating people like shi*!! Because they dont hold your point of view!

I would invite you in for a cup of tea and ask real politely why you are trying to upset others. Like you I don't beleive Christains should go around bothering those who don't want to know. I never 'cold knock' doors. (Did that as a door to door saleperson. Hated it). I also never impose myself on others. I will answer questions I am asked and give the truth if called to do so, but I never make a point of forcing others to have it.

So, if you came to my door trying to do that to me, I would tell you the same as I would tell any christian doing so. It is not the right way to go about it. It is an invasion of the rights and prviacy of others, and it leaves the door open to criticism and abuse.

If people want to know, let them come and ask. Then you can gaurantee they are ready to listen and hear.

Your obviously not too bright, but atleast you ask questions to find out exactly how stupid you are. The only "Christians" that knock on doors to preach to you are Jehovah witnesses, and they account for a very small minority of Christians. I wouldnt even call them Christians, they are simply a money making machine which started in America.

I do, I am afraid take offence. I will answer in two parts.
a) I, as a christian do NOT go around knocking on doors (although I think it is a perfectly good way of spreading the Good News)

b) I would not mind at all. If an atheist/agnostic wish to preach their beliefs (such as Richard Dawkins) they are free to do so.

I never realized how much fear and irritation the preaching work of Christians going door-to-door brought to people! But it is only people doing what Jesus Christ himself said that his true followers would be doing. In fact, I would honestly expect more of his 'people' to be doing more of this work. I mean the word "Christians" means to be Christ-like, to be a follower of and an imitator-of, to be like him in as many ways as possible , right? To be preachers of his word as commanded at Mt 24:3, 14; Mr 13:10. These are part of the signs of his second coming. I guess modern day 'christians' aren't that willing or hopeful for his second coming , or they would be out there, spreading the new of it and the joys of being one of his 'sheeplike ones'.
There are numerous other reasons why today's 'christians' aren't Christ-like; the dishonesty in the churches' teachings and practices....the wars that are supported by the churches....the political parties that are supported by the churches....the churches that go so far as to give their teens condoms, birth control and sex ed classes.....the false religious practices and/or beliefs that have been allowed to seep into the churches in order to bring in people of pagan origins in order to fill the pews ( early christian churches mostly ) like Hellfire, the cross, the trinity, easter, christmas practices, the maypole, 'once forgiven, always forgiven', angel worship, IDOL Worship, the list goes on...) )

Maybe the fact that there is a religion out there that tells the TRUTH about such practices and DOES NOT ALLOW them into THEIR worship scares alot of you. Maybe its because you are afraid to admit that what you have believed in and trusted all of your lives is a lie and you know it , deep in your hearts, and you're just too afraid to admit it? You see that this ONE religion is out there, DOING what Jesus TOLD ALL OF HIS DISCIPLES to be doing and you are at home on Saturday Mornings, eating cherrios and watching cartoons, while his real disciples are dressed, and out trying to just encourage Bible reading because THEY know that IF you DO read your Bible YOU will find the TRUTH in it too! So dust off your Bible, get it off of that shelf where it has set for the last 15 years and open it, read it and learn some truths from it!!

Psalms 83:18 is a good start.
Mt 24:3, 14; Mr 13:10; next.
Then if you have more questions, contact some of those door knockers, you know which church to look up in the phone book. Call on a Sunday morning or on a Thursday night or go there even and ask for someone who could give you some answers. No one will bite you. No one will hurt your or make fun of you. You will be greeted by cleanly dressed, friendly people with smiles who will be more than happy to answer any Biblical questions you may have. Give it a shot. It won't hurt HALF as bad as you think.

Do Chrisitans, come knock at your door, telling you to change? You can come to my door all you like, and I might even listen to you, but the decision to change would be mines, just like it is yours. If you don't want to, then that's your choice. As it's mines to believe what I want.

First of all I fail to understand you question! It reeks of a weak-minded person, who is unclear of their ground in matters spiritual.

I only have Christian and Jewish friends, not one of whom I know goes knocking on doors in order to spread their Faith.

Perhaps, judging from the tenor of your question, the time has arrived when you should open your mind to the joy that is found in the Christian Faith.

It is not my wish, nor has it ever been, to enjoin others to believe as I do.

Hi!

I would ask you for reasons for your conviction and give you a chance to talk without to swear at you, redicule you or pretend I am listening to you...

The truth is what everyone wants...If perhaps we were wrong about our faith in Christ, we would seek the TRUE GOD...I am convinced that every TRUE CHRISTIAN seeks the truth and not justifications for not doing the right thing!

The question is "Do atheist, Evolutionists and other religions want the truth or verbal competition?"

Hug!
