I can tell you that the US military is very wary of Bush and his idiot advisors. The army is poised for a military coup against this stupid jerk. He people have given the army an impossible mission in Iraq and Afghanistan. Tours are extended, reservists are being extended, etc.
Broken promises by two draft dodgers, Bush and Cheney

It's heartening to see so many good answers to this question. Not everyone in the service supports the president personally; but it's a definining term in military service to support him by doing your job. We follow his orders, period. It's insulting to us to continue heaping personal attacks on the commander in chief, and it's gotten beyond tiresome. Whether liberals like it or not, this constant Bush-bashing makes it very hard for us to accomplish missions. Trying to infuse political innuendo into every single thing in an attempt to undermine the president's credibility undermines us. There is no separation here. If you want to bash Bush, fine; but perhaps you might consider doing it after the war's over or at least not over national television, newspapers, magazines, etc. If you want to question his motives or actions, fine; investigate away. It's the hateful political rhetoric that has a negative affect on us, not to mention the rhetoric the media has against us anyway (ie, newstories about every misstep or hint of a misstep made by any and every servicemember they hear of). Bush has not been sacrificing or stripping any constitutional freedom; he sure as hell hasn't been stripping the freedom of speech, because all of his opponents have been pushing THAT freedom well past the point of abuse for the duration of his time in office. If you've got nothing constructive to say or have any real help to offer, it's better to keep your political hate-spewing rubbish to yourself, regardless of what party or which side of the political spectrum you come from. None of the rest of us actually doing the work for you, to keep you safe and protect your rights, need it.

Former Seaman, I'm very disappointed in you. You're a liberal dupe. The 10+ years you spent in the Navy obviously didn't broaden your mind. You have swallowed the mainstream media's Bush-bashing propaganda hook, line, and sinker. What's worse, the lesson of 9/11 has been utterly lost on you (let me guess; you believe that the fall of the Twin Towers was all part of a right-wing conspiracy, correct?) I would think that serving during the Desert Shield/Desert Storm era would have shown you just how dangerous Saddam Hussein was and the type of unsavory characters he was associating with. But then again, looking at your years of service I have to wonder why you got out somewhere in the neighborhood of 10 to 11 years without staying the course and getting a retirement out of the deal. Either you quit too early or they kicked you out for cause, so either way you're a loser and you're also IN NO WAY qualified to comment on how to defend a nation.

Since pyropixie - the military wife jumped in on her head. I texted my son. A US Army Ranger & Officer, he said he supports the President completely. He does not think he is attempting to strip any constitutional power but is trying to stop the Democrats & loose cannon Republicans from trying to define our rights & the military's rights. For the 1st time, Congress wants to tell the military what to do, the President is called the Commander in Chief for a reason. Congress is commander only of the civilan laws.
He said he & the others with him are chanting Bush - 3rd term.
He knows that can not happen as he graduated with honors from a great university - I know I paid for it.
I am in complete agreement with him, along with the 28 other
servicemen with him. He says thanks for rallying his troops today. They needed a reminder to prepare for another deployment.

You dont know anything about the Commander in Chief then! Hes taking steps to protect the citizens of the US and doing what needs done. If people in the US took a little responsibility to their safety as well, the President wouldnt have too ! To include you! A majority of people in the US are so focused on what the Govt does to make YOUR life cusshy, they are just becoming a bunch of sheep! If you had any patriotism, you would support him but your just a coward, so get a life!

i wanted to send you response-but cannot-so really not answering question here-just saying i do understand-raised on Arny base-father was an officer-as for slinging margarita's-more beer and wings now-few martini's-and just on sundays now-and final irony is i do work for Government-granted at a County level-but still.
And for thinking-i am educated and vote in every election-so i have my voice heard constitutionally. The "butt love" comment was satire-which you missed in your political rage. Can always smile-even when you disagree-least i try too.

As a veteran from a previous unpopular war, I find the competence level of this commander and chief to be equal with what we would get out of Elmer Fudd, read the news, could Iraq get much worse, have we ever experienced so many assaults on the “Bill of Rights” or the “Constitution” and does this president understand that he is losing the war on terror when he takes away the “writ of habeas corpus” and when he lowers our standards to that of the enemy by making torture part of the plan.

You can discount your first answerer with the coup theory . . .what a load of you know what. You've based your question on hyper liberal-think, loading the question with wild accusations. It's apparent you are not in the service, and that's good for all the rest of us. Think about it, President hasn't the power to do what you suggest. War profiteering? Where, oil? Don't think so. Try reading more and try watching news such as FOX or CNN.

I did when Carter was our Nimcompoop in charge! he left us high and dry when we went to rescue the hostages in Iran...talk about NO back up plan.....They even argued whether to come back and rescue us in the desert....Carter was and still is worthless as a statesman. (US Navy Seal 1977-1981)
