Many kids are overweight these days. How can we expect them to be healthy if we don't make them exercise?

unfortunately, there are not enough teachers, and the governments are to stupid to hire more, or they think we should be making the kids learn more from books in less time.

That's precisely the reason. If we made them do physical activity, some kids would develop fabulous bodies, all buff and lean. But other kids would not, and the buff and lean ones would make the fat ones feel bad about themselves, and damage their self esteem. So we need to keep all kids fat, for the sake of equality.

Also, there is an epidemic of obesity in America, and many do-gooders like to cry about it. If we got kids in shape, then the "screaming about obesity" lobby would have nothing to do. It's all very simple, really.

not all states are.. I'm a Child Care Health Coordinator here in Arkansas.. and our schools are the first in the nation to be able to report a halt in the obesity epidemic in children.. we have many, many programs working on the problem and coming up with solutions.. i work with preschool but i can say that in the school districts they have worked very hard to fix this problem, and we have raised the level of physical activity in schools and improved the quality of nutrition, nutrition education and parental involvement. one of the best things you could do is to look up Coordinated School Health.. it's a wonderful program.

try to get your school to become a cshp school

There are a lot of myths about physical education that cause schools to eliminate classes. This web site lists most of them:

particular, i think of it is going to possibly be a required type from worry-loose college by way of intense college. For some infants it is the only actual activity that they get carry of. considering we've maximum of infants that are obese and maximum of infants getting sort II Diabetes i think of that it is significant that they be required to get exercising at school.
