serious questions on this site? Honestly, I've some questions like: my cat has had a runny toilet for 3 weeks now&I saw blood-what do i do?OR, my dog has kennel cough for some time now, what should I do.OR, my dog has given birth and the puppy has crushed his/her tongue-how should I feed him/her?etc etc etc

People, if you think your pet is sick. BRING HIM/HER TO THE VET. Stop waiting for weeks to decide then go on the net for an answer. Your answer is at the VETS!

Of course vets are expensive just like doctors are us. But if we were ill we go to the doc, we don't self prescribe. Treat animals with the same respect!

obviously the answers are free but lads it is common sense and priority is to your pet in the car & go to the vet before heading to the computer. To wait weeks is a form of cruelty. Poor things to be left like that. We always bring our pets to the vet if they are sick-straight away and we don't have alot of money. Money can't become an issue because your dog,cat,bird... are family!if you don't consider em family don't get a pet!! And i agree with the comment if ya can't afford the vet, well you can't afford to have a pet!

"if you cant afford one, then dont get one."

Mickey: I couldn't agree with you more. However, sometimes people get pets when the are finacially stable, but then fall upon hard times such as losing their job, family member becoming ill and (human) medical costs piling up.

As for the original question, it never ceases to amaze me how people (assuming they are serious and not lying) with pets that are literally dying are sitting on the Internet looking for answers. In this case, just go to the vet and worry about the money later.

However, I can understood questions about non-life threatening matters (dry skin, dirty ears, bad breath, a limp). Perhaps they have an appointment for the vet already, but would like to know right now what other people have done in the situation (I myself have posted a question like that, and for me it's a matter of getting other opinions in addition to, not as a substitute for the vet's).

I totally agree with you and never understood, why someone wants to get a diagnoses of some sort of illness from a stranger. And it's a lot about their female organs and periods, besides animals. If I had a sick animal at home, I would go to the vet and not spending my time on the computer. Maybe there are just bored and want to see our reaction to their questions.

I couldn't agree with you more. If my dog was half as sick as some of the question I've seen, I would be calling th vet ASAP and not asking a bunch of strangers what to do.

I totally agree with you but some people don't have the money for the vets and are trying to get advice on the off chance somebody can help them. Others are just nitwits who are borderline with cruelty and neglect. TAKE YOUR ANIMALS TO THE VET!!!!!!

mm, i c ur point....it can be very expensive if you go a lot though...even though we go, animals are very vulnerable to sicknesses, i think more than us, especially if they have horrible non-caring owners, so if people treated their pets rite there wouldn't be as much sicknesses, not saying that all people are bad pet owners, cuz animals are vulnerable to sicknesses as i said earlier, and this question is making a good point. we should treat them with respect. but this is a good place to ask those type of questions. this is wut this site is for. questions. if this site was all stupid questions, i wouldn't be on here as much as i always am. there are vets on this webpage, and if many people say the same thing, like example:

My dog's toungue is blue, wut do i do?

*give it this or take it to the vet!
*the vets the only answer!
*give it this medicine.

see how they all said pretty much the same thing? but if its like this:

My dogs tongue is blue wut do i do?

*vet
*medicine
*good sleep
*its dizzy

they're all different. this means the vet is a good choice. for the 1st example question, its 99% chance that wut they say since they all say the same thing its rite. so, yes. i give credit to you and i contridict you at the same time.

If you can't afford to take your pet to the vet when it needs medical attention, then you shouldn't even have a pet. It's that simple.

lots of these people just shouldnt have pets. if you cant afford one, then dont get one. its common sense, but apparently lots of people dont have that anymore. they are all like, its too expensive to take them to the vet... well, if your kid was puking all night and day, you would take him to the DR, so whats the difference?? if you cant afford to have a kid, dont, if you cant afford to have a pet...... same principle!!

Deniel or uneducated on serioseness. If person confirms gut feeling then yes- if someone agrees it is no big deal- we let it be.

Look around its not about Pets secluded- its about LIFE- kids, relationships, choices we make-

This is a community to get feedback on issues we might not bring up in our daily lives- but matter to US
