what does this mean "shoo fi ma fi" or somehting like that im kinda thinking it means something like whats up??

that makes sense cuz my hubby is lebanese and he says this alot i wud have asked him but its bugging me now lol..thanks

well like ur hubby am lebanese... born and raised
so anyway "shou fi ma fi" means whts up in a freindly manner like its something u say to hur wife/hubby kids CLOSE friends... and unlike wht other ppl think thts usualy used by leboes or ppl who visited lebanon and got used to its slang syrian and all arabs countries are WAY different than leboes dialect

ps: lebanon isnt an arabic country even though we speak arabic... were phoenicians :)

This slang phrase is made up of two pieces. It'spredominantely heard in Lebanon/Syria or the "El-Sham" area.

"shoo fi" stands for "what's there?" and "ma fi" means "there's nothing", so if you put them together, it comes close to "what's up" as you say...

U r kinda right it means what is new ? or whats up? but it is not in proper Arabic it is from the Syrian and Lebanese dialect .

this is a slang lebanees,it means what is there and what there isn`t= what is up=tell me about every thing=how it goes with you..
equals to iraqi`s; shaku maku..
you can answer him,every thing is all right,i am fine,and give him some news...
