2006 Is the last official year of the Jeep!
Not only is the Compass the first front wheel drive Jeep in history, it's only a rebadged Dodge Caliber. Soit's not even one of a kind.
As for the new Wranglers, they finally got rid if the most reliable and dependable motors in history (the in line six), replacing it with a motor from a minivan (insult!). The lowered and softened the ride even further and say that it's "Trail Rated" (bigger insult!).
And finally its TWO WHEEL DRIVE!!!! 4WD is an option.
My friends we are witnessing the end of the greatest historical icon ever created.

It is new and different ..but just like 96 when the new 97 TJ wrangler came out, people will get used to it's looks with time. I think it is still very true to the jeep lineage and looks pretty good-but I am still keeping my 06.

I think the new Wrangler looks fantastic. The 4 door is especially good looking. For all of you Wrangler owners that had to sell your Wrangler to fit your family, now you can get one again. The new hard top is really great. It is like a T-Top up front, and the rear comes off in one piece! I think it liiks like a little H1. Good luck finding one now though, because I can't get one in before it gets presold. I have pictures of them though!

I don't know if its ugly or not. Still looks like a Wrangler. Lift it 4", put 33's on it and get rid of the "flenders" and put some Bushwhacker flares on it and it would be a cool rig. May as well dump the V6 and put a Hemi in it, then it would really kick ***.

you know they dont look that far from the tj but i personally think they lost it with changing the engine to some crappy v6. however they have one really cool thing this year is that they put in electronic sway bar disconects and the navigation system in it is badass but other then that its just a jeep but with less power where the jeep needs it. so they are just so so they could have dont a lot better i think but theyre conforming to these damn tree hugging people who want 50 million mpg from a car but what can you do.

Personally, it's not a wrangler with 4 doors!!! Has the Chrysler coporation lost their mind? It's like taking an Escalade mud boggin! LOL

Both of the 2 new versions are "BUTT-UGLY".
It's not a true JEEP unless it's got a nice short wheel-base and just 2 doors. Why they ever got the stupid idea to stretch the body then the even dumber idea to add 2 more doors we will never really understand here in "REAL JEEP LAND"

could desire to be gruesome, yet i'm effective you will no longer come across a motor vehicle that's greater exciting topersistent! for my area, i think of the JKs are gruesome except surprisingly changed. yet possibly i'm somewhat bias being that I very own a CJ :) Take the suited off and function some exciting with it.

no i like it kinda... its not as cool as the 2001's those are neat, but it is a four dor, and its different... i think you should get a jeep! girls are so cute and hot in them! especially cute petite ones like my girl!
