"it's our job to support our government"

what about civil duty to keep power in check? what about the Romans who eventually suppressed Judaism and later converted to christianity and went on crusades (ahem...like now)?

what happened to Rome, and will christians really say this when we have a Muslim president and cabinet, or will they go berserk and pray for rapture?

When we have a Muslim president and cabinet, I'll move to another country. But, yeah, I don't think that's going to happen.

Even though Jesus repeatedly said that He talks in parables, some Christians still think the Father, Son and Holy Spirit is like three people.

If you want to do any good in this world in regards to religion, you may concentrate on monotheism rather than futurist predictions.

The Father, Son and Holy Spirit is like the soul, the body and the works in a single person.

Here is what the Bible says:

"All of you must yield to the government rulers. No one rules unless God has given him the power to rule, and no one rules now without that power from God." (Romans 13:1 NCV)

"Remind the believers to yield to the authority of rulers and government leaders, to obey them, to be ready to do good" (Titus 3:1 NCV)

I understand this to mean that as long as the govenment is not getting in the way of God's laws and work, we should be live in accordance to what their laws are.

each citizen has the right to vote the way they see fit and thus have a say in what goes on in the governmental process. if people vote for governmental offices they have a say in the running of the country if they do not then those not voting should conform to what decisions are made with no complaint because they have not voiced their opinions.

All I know is that, you should support the war and our President. The Bible speaks of respecting those in authority of you. Support is respect. You should be privileged and honored to have that freedom to support him, most countries you either support the dictator or die, I'll leave it to you to choose.
