It depends on where the warrants are issued from and what they are for. If the warrants are like you say for traffic violations and you are not applying for an ID near to where the warrants are issued, then chances are you will not be arrested.

It cost money to send officers to pick you up from where you were arrested at. Traffic violations are usually minor fines and not worth the cost to send the officer to get you.

Keep in mind that the warrants will still show, but will mostly likely say no extradition unless within so many miles of the originating authority of the warrant.

However Texas cooperates with other states. If you have a warrant out for you in another state that says they will not extradite, then Texas will not issue you a sate ID or Dl until you have taken care of that warrant.

This is what you do. Take care of the Warrant and stop trying to find away around it. When the warrant is gone you will have no more worries.

Not likely.
The TX driver's license & state ID are issued at the same DPS office & the same data base is used.
But you could try it out, just to see.
A friend took a very long lunch one day when he was renewing his driver's license & forgot an outstanding ticket for not using his seatbelt.
I would recommend taking care of the warrants.

When you get a renewal, you're automatically run thru the National Crime Information Center. If you have any warrants nationwide, they will show up there. Don't be surprised if a state trooper shows up behind you to escort you to the holding cells in the back. Your best bet is to bite the bullet and turn yourself in at the nearest police or sheriff's office. The judge will be more lenient with you.

In Illinois and I am assuming this is the same for everywhere, the DMV has a seperate computer system than police departments. They only run your previous driver's license status and info in their computer. The warrant would be a criminal issue and be in the computer for police use. In IL you would be safe but TX is a little backwards sometimes...wish I could help more.

Call and ask. The better thing to do is turn yourself in.
