I have curly, somewhat frizzy hair...how can i get soft beach waves without using a curling iron?

You might want to start using "sleek looks" by matrix along with a hair polish or glossifier. The professional products will get you to the point you want to be with your hair far better than on the shelf stuff. The shiner I'm thinking of is made by Farouk..ah! Silk therapy.I love that stuff. It works so well and you can put it on you hair and air dry or use before you iron and it locks in moisture.

I have really curly hair. But to get the smooth waves takes a long time becuase mine is long. What I do is first straighten it with a flat iron and then put mousse and hairspray. Since it takes so much tine I only do it on special ocassions.

I would go to a good salon, explain your problem, have them show you how to style your hair. I have the same kind of hair, but with a good stylist, lots of gel and hairspray, I now have the kind of hair I want!

Try a product called Sebastion(sp?) Laminates.
It's a silicone gel for hair. Doesn't harden and get crusty like the anti-friz products out there.
Mostly it gives you hair a slighty dirty look like you didn't wash it that day.
