Jesus say, "Go therefore and make disciples of all nations...teaching them to observe all things I have commanded you..."? (Matt. 28:19-20)

He does not say, 'go, and be active in your nation's politics'.

Many, if not most, christian religious leaders are saying that "the church" should spend it's time and resources doing things other than loving one another and making disciples of all nations. Their people are told we need to use political means to advance the Kingdom of God. Their people are told they are to fight against moral evil and to fight to preserve our 'rights'. Their people are told to keep their minds on the world's kingdoms (governments) and battles and to use the world's means (political power) to fight those battles.

This is another false gospel leading people away from God. Jesus says, "My kingdom is not of this world. If my kingdom were of this world, My servants would fight...". (John 18:36) Many religious organization leaders say, "Jesus' kingdom is manifest in this world through political means, so get fighting."

Who do you believe, Jesus or the voices of those prominent religious leaders?

I believe in Jesus and He taught us to pray "Our Father, who art in Heaven, hallowed be Thy name....THY KINGDOM COME, THY WILL BE DONE ON EARTH AS IT IS IN HEAVEN...ETC by involving ourselves in political issues, we are helping to bring about the Kingdom of God here on earth as Jesus instructed us to do. Stand up and speak out and vote against those who promote killing of innocent babies still in the womb, killing of the elderly, moral decay, etc. This is the priviledge of all of God's children, to fight against all lies and untruth in this country by exercising our right to vote and choose leaders who will contribute to the good, and not moral decay.

"Give to Caeser what is Caeser's and to God what is God's"

Jesus said this when the Pharacies asked him about taxes from Rome but I think it applies to national politics as well. Whatever the political society you live in. Be it democratic, Communism, or a dictatorship. You should follow the rules of the land just so far as they do not interfere with God's law. When the government starts making you do things counter to God's law that's when you take action. For instance when the government calls for the murder of babies... you take action.

Regardless of religious belief political decisions should be made secularly, it's in the Constitution. Our Christian Leaders are making decisions not only for Christians but for Muslims, Atheists, Buddhists and alot of other minorities. Just because theses groups are minorities it doesn't mean you can make decisions disregarding them, because so many of these decisions affect the whole country.

So... what are you doing to CONFRONT those prominent religious leaders? Christian 'Dominionists' (Reconstructionalists, Theonomists) have largely usurped the local level political apparatus of the Republican Party, and are engaged in a sub rosa process to politically motivate moderate Christians under the false cover of religious issues such as morality and family values, under cover of front organizations like the Christian Coalition, the American Family Association and the Promise Keepers. The goal is nothing less than the takeover of all elective offices in the USA.

Their doctrine comes from the Bible, starting with the term 'dominion' at Genesis 1:28... “And God said unto them, [Adam and Eve] Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth and subdue it; and have DOMINION… over every living thing.” They interpret DOMINION as: “... a supremacy in determining and directing the actions of others or in governing politically, socially, or personally.”

They want to remake the USA as a theocracy... and they are succeeding.

Its most common form, Dominionism, represents one of the most extreme forms of Fundamentalist Christianity thought. Its followers, called Dominionists, are attempting to convert the laws of United States so that they match those of the Hebrew Scriptures. They intend to achieve this by using the freedom of religion in the US to train a generation of children via home-schooling and in private Christian religious schools. See: JESUS CAMP http://www.apple.com/trailers/magnolia/jesuscamp/trailer/ Later, their graduates will be charged with the responsibility of creating a new Bible-based political, religious and social order. One of the first tasks of this order will be to eliminate religious choice and freedom. Their eventual goal is to achieve the "Kingdom of God" in which much of the world is converted to Christianity. They feel that the power of God's word will bring about this conversion. No armed force or insurrection will be needed; in fact, they believe that there will be little opposition to their plan. People will willingly accept it. All that needs to be done is to properly explain it to them.

All religious organizations, congregations etc. other than strictly Fundamentalist Christianity would be suppressed. Nonconforming Evangelical, main line and liberal Christian religious institutions would no longer be allowed to hold services, organize, proselytize, etc. Society would revert to the laws and punishments of the Hebrew Scriptures. Any person who advocated or practiced other religious beliefs outside of their home would be tried for idolatry and executed. Blasphemy, adultery and homosexual behavior would be criminalized; those found guilty would also be executed. There are two conservative Christian pastors in Texas who have advocated the execution of all Wiccans. Ralph Reed, the executive director of the conservative public policy group the Christian Coalition has criticized Reconstructionism as "an authoritarian ideology that threatens the most basic civil liberties of a free and democratic society."

By failing to openly confront this insidious agenda, we have sown the seeds of our own destruction, while these religious wing-nuts are paving the way to Armageddon with gleeful anticipation.

If you read the Bible before making certain statements you would clearly see that in the Bible God had people in government like Daniel, David, Joseph, etc. We should not go into government because of self but to help others and to do God's will as these men of old did. Politics is so corrupt now though that I would not tell someone to go in it unless he or she is being led by the holy spirit.

I believe the IRS should send out more warning letters to religious groups who are politicking whilst at the same time claiming tax exemption....it happens to be against the law.

It appears that chrsitianity doesn't have enough merit on its own to attract followers, so it has to be either mandated by law, acquire new recruits with bribes of food, medicine, etc., or be accomplished at the point of a gun.
