My wife passed on a year ago and since then I have made love only twice. In fact, I did it to test that I am still a man and alive. Though I love people of opposite sex (females)and want to talk to them, I lack the motivation. Right now, I am getting used to the situation- no hard on, no wet dreams etc. Do you think this is injurious to my health and may lead me to live a shorter life span as indicated by some people?

Actually, it CAN lead to a higher likelihood of certain health issues. I've read that men who have an orgasm at least 20 times a month are far less likely to develop prostate cancer, believe it or not. The biological fact is that the body produces semen and has to do something with it. You don't necessarily need to have sex, because it's totally understandable that you may not be over your wife's death - but masturbation does the job just as well. Ask your doctor. Obviously this need also varies from man to man.

Well I know a widowed friend and she didnt have orgasms when she watched porn movies for 6 monthes but when she met someone else she soon started to heal. What im saying is maybe you shouldnt be looking for sex, and look for a hole that is in your heart. You need to repair that using someone elses love for you. God will help you find that love for a new lover.

Give yourself some time. When you meet the right person, it will be natural. Forcing yourself might cause physical problems if you know what I mean. Go slow....you must be thinking about sex though. That is a good sign!

No you are still in mourning and not ready to move on even for a sexual thing. Doesn't shorten the life span.

no your just going through a hard time and i think whats really hurting you is thinking whether or not you are okay. when you think theirs something wrong with you and you focus so much on what you think is the problem really because your problem just because you thought of it and give it so much importance that you break your self figureing out if you are okay.
