I was diagnosed with thrush, treated with Nystatin and my doc said I was OK.

I think I might have had a re-occurance. But my symptoms seem to come and go throughout the day. Can that happen with thrush?

Also, can thrush be temporarily washed off when you drink fluids, or does it take scraping to do that?

The infection is usually controlled with treatment, but it may recur. Thrush may spread to the palate, tongue, cheeks, or throat. Other spread of the infection is uncommon, but it may occur.

In immunocompromised patients, the Candida infection can involve the esophagus and can become systemic, causing a much more serious condition, fungemia. If you have frequent outbreaks of thrush, your doctor may recommend taking antifungal medication on a regular basis to avoid recurrent infections.

I think it can come and go, and can be stress-related.

DRinking prenty of fluids will help aleviate the symptoms, but medication is the answer. Canistan is good.
