There is much Racism in America. It is shameful. I agree that people being here illegal potentially cause a major national security problem. We need to know who resides here on our soil....but they have not created the system that virtually makes it impossible to become legal. This system was left as such by our government to exploit and pilfer the people from Mexico.....our governments greed is what allowed the attacks of 911. In essence while trying to keep the North American Indians in their place where the white man still thinks they belong....... They created the perfect atmosphere for terrorist to come on our soil and kill. Possibly if the American Government had done right by our Neighboring Mexican Indians 911 would not have happened. I AM NOT A RACIST I AM A REALIST.

Im not a racist at all. I do believe that every race has good and every race has the crappy.
I am torn on the illegals. I feel in one way its not fair we are paying for them and they are leachign off our system.
At the same time we did take this country from them. It wasnt ours origionally and we all moved here. So I think that we should find a way to bring them in legally and let them work. This benefits us because most americans want the better paying jobs. While the illegals are willing to work the lessor jobs as long as they can support their family.
I know a lot of people think they are "stealing" our jobs, americans are lazy, we as a people are lazy and want hand me downs. I dont believe they are stealing any jobs they just are willing to work hard and not expect high pay for no knowledge.
I also think that its funny that they are all talking spanish and not learning english. We made the Natives here learn our languages when we took over. Why should it be any different? Americans in this respect are lazy too. Just about every culture knows multiple languages. Why dont we try and learn them? Becasue we think the world revoles around us.
So this isnt to make anyone mad, though Im sure it will. But I hope that it does make you think a little more.
Again, I think that they are feeding off of our health care system and others like it, but we need a plan for this. We need to bring more in legally and penalize the ones that are hear illegally and abusing the system.
So definitely not racist but do believe this system is not working well and we need to change it.

I agree that racism still exists in this country. It exists in every race and every community to some degree. Now as to illegal immigration. I do not like it for several reasons. There are people who follow the law and they should not have their honest desire to become American citizens subverted by those who choose the unethical illegal route. The law is absolute and should be followed. While I do not agree with the contentions of some regarding illegal aliens and their character, it cannot be denied that by coming here illegally they are breaking the law. I have empathy for the fact that Mexico has rampant poverty, and little room to better yourself, but this is not through any fault of the citizens of the United States. It is rather because of a history of corrupt leadership in that country. With it's natural resources and the industrious nature of it's people, Mexico should be an economic giant. If the people of Mexico would devote their true struggle to reform of their land rather than the easy solution of illegally crossing a border, who knows what Mexico might become. I for would love to find out.

Truths:
There was rampant fraud relating to Katrina victims and the debits cards that the government gave out.
There are proven stories of Katrina victims refusing work. This is not an indictment because most are hardworking and honest individuals just trying to rebuild their lives.
Americans are not against legal immigration to this country, but we are against people violating our laws.
America cannot take the whole world into it's borders. It's not feasible, it's not practical, and it's not going to happen.
Everyone who visits the detainee camp at Guantanamo, even the most liberal and vocal opponents of the war all report that conditions are good and detainees are treated well.

Race is nothing to me... You should see my family! Illegals are another thing all together... Too many people all over the world who want to get in and have to go about it the right way... Not right for people to sneak in and take their rightful places! Everyone should have to get in the same way!!! Also, allowing the illegals makes it bad for the country losing them... How is a country going to grow and improve if all of it's young, healthy, and motivated are sneaking off somewhere else? It won't! The flood is hurting both sides! Mexico will stay weak if all the strong keep coming here instead! Fight to fix your beautiful country; don't desert so soon... It's still developing! Again, I could care less about race as my family includes white, Indian, black, and Mexican!

No there is no "hate" from me towards any legal/illegal person from any country or of any race. That's only being a racist and the people who feel that way are only using this forum to display their own insecurities about themselves by using hate filled words in ignorant posts. But there are racists on both side .Its equally as ignorant from either side.My problem here in Arizona is not only the illegal that comes here by the thousands, its also the cost of this cheap labor they talk so much about. The facts and figures here say its very expensive to have all the illegals in our city's and our state. The added burden to our schools, hospitals, jails, prisons, etc are costing the citizen millions. The amount we benefit from the illegals is negligible compared to the cost.I am anti illegal but I don't hate the race of the person just his/her act of illegality

I am not racist in no respect. I like all people that God has created. I definitely do not like the problems that illegal people are causing in this country as well as to ones that are not illegals I feel the same.

I'm not racist but I'm sick and tired of all these illegals (Mexicans mostly) coming to the United States! They come here just for jobs- they don't want to be Americans. They refuse to come here and learn English- We have to pay for translators. They get benefits that Americans can't get!!
I say that Mexicans need to fix their own country instead of coming here and ruining our quality of life! We are overcrowded and are having the life sucked out of by Mexicans!

Race has nothing to do with the fact that I do not like anything that is illegal. Illegal means it is not legal. We will lose our freedoms if we consent to that which we have already detemined to be against our laws. Do not narrow yourself into thinking that a person who believes we must live the laws of our land, or change them through legal means, is a bigot.

I'm torn between both sides. I dislike illegals that come here to commit their crimes and to run away from their criminal background in their country. I also dislike illegals (and not just hispanic illegals, asian, euros, african, etc) that come here and expect our country to just take care of them. But there are many people who are or were illegal, like my husband, who come here to try and better themselves from the country that they lived in. A lot of illegals are just trying are to make a better life for themselves and truly do work hard and stay out of trouble. A big mojority of Americans are just generalizing.
