u can't stop lies or gossip, just make sure u & family walk upright & don't react to it. in time lies & gossip wld be exposed & truth will prevail. just keep prayer. God will be your vindicator.

This is sad...but don't worry, you will get your answers here.
Jesus Christ illustrated the steps that one need to take when one is offended by a brother/sister in Christ...(We really need to first make sure that he was indeed a "Brother/sister"...
1.He said first call him aside and talk to him about how he offends you.Your dad or husband must attempt to humbly talk to the leaders of that church.Mind you, the church could be attacking your family without its leaders' encouraging that.Make sure, if the leaders of that church are behind this or not.
2. If they persists, take two or three people to talk to that church.
3.If they persist,tell it to your NEW CHURCH where you now attend...and if they persist, Jesus says:
Matthew 18:17 "... but if he neglect to hear the church, let him(in your case, that church) be unto thee as a heathen man and a publican."
Jesus basically says if that church continues to offend your family "regard it like an UNBELIEVER CHURCH"...
How should we treat UNBELIEVERS?....we are to EVANGELIZE them and LOVE THEM.They need Christ in their lives though some may not know it.Break their evil intentions by loving them and yet be truthful enough to tell them the TRUTH about Christ.
On the issue of that church being a cult:
I just need you to make sure that you have enough evidence about the church, that says "They reject the essence of Christ Himself"...if they have, and are adamant about it, pray for them...Pray against the demons that are using them.
You also stay in the Holy Spirit...Don't grieve the Holy Spirit in any way.If that church is a cult, they are likely to fight your family spiritually by sending CURSES.Curses cannot do anything to a BORN-AGAIN CHRISTIAN...unless the person continuously lives a life of disobedience.

Um, how about "leave"? Are you a prisoner something? does he keep your family locked in the church basement and only lets them out to talk bad about them? If you don't like it, get the fcuk out. Simple, no?

Shake the dust of your sandals and move forward. He speaks bad of your family because he carries guilt, to talk bad about your family makes him feel better about himself while he knows he/she is wrong.

burn him!!! he's the devil... jk well i guess confront him... if someone has a problem with you and they're saying things that offend you and your family, confront them and tell them that you do not appreciate it... tell them that if they have a problem with you and your family they can tell you and not run their mouth...
