fusilli pasta with pasta sauce and cheese.
if your doing sandwiches use cookie cutters to make it more fun.
i could list loads of stuff but your best bet really is to let him help out with the food if you have time. you could make or buy pizza bases and have lots of ingredients that he could choose to put on top, like mushrooms chicken ham peppers, baby corn, etc etc
make cakes with him, let him help prepare vegetables. play games where you are blindfolded and have to guess what you are eating.
relax. dont stress out, cos then he ll think theres something to be stressed about.
let him be messy, have a system where he gets massive praise if he has just one bite of something, (or even start by just touching it.) or say he can have one bit of his favorite food after 1 bite of a new food.
just have fun with it , stay consistant even if you have to take twice as long over mealtimes and he ll eventually relax and suprise you with what he s willing to try
good luck

I have a fussy 5 year old boy and the thing that I did was to get a kids cook book, sit down with him and plan a meal together, maybe a main meal and a pudding. Get him to go with you shopping and let him help you make it. That way he will see food can be fun.
Or if you can't do that try making the food into pictures on the plate. ie mash potatoes for a face, a sauage for a mouth, a half a tomato for a nose, a boiled egg cut into two for the eyes and baked beans for hair.

Good Luck

Fix what ever the rest of your family likes. Don`t be cooking a seperate meal just for him. Tell him to eat what is on the table or go without, that your not cooking twice. After he realizes you mean it he will start to eat what is set before him. Once that happens you can fix a meal of his favorite food as a meal for all. You`ll be suprised how soon that will be a lot of different foods.

This isnt really an answer to your question but I saw on TV recently the Gordon Ramsay's wife was writing a book on cooking for kids - using simple recipes and everyday indredients, essential for busy mums and dads. Keep an eye out for it.

You made him fussy. We were never allowed to leave the table until our plate was cleared. Even if that meant one or all of us were sitting at the table hours after the food got cold. We soon learned. We werent told about starving kids in africa; just simply eaten or beaten. Kids today have got it too easy. Your little punk will run rings round you and it will serve you right!!!!!

Hey..try some good ol' canned Ravioli (The best is *Hero*). Empty the can (s) into a casserole, put in a cold oven, set at 180-200°c for about 25 mins, remove (if the kids like garlic like mine do) then add 2 crushed garlics, mix it up, add plenty of Parmesan cheese (Padano..mmmm), black pepper on the top, back in the oven for about 15 mins...et voila, c'est trés facile et bien pour vos enfants, and it is good for the adults too for a change. Also the kids love it when they eat the same as the adults, if I eat something different he, they always want mine! Lol!!

Good luck!

True to a fault, as the first responder has stated, Mac n Cheese is an all time favorite. You may also try the standard Peanut butter and Jelly and for variety you could remove the crusts and cut it into quarters. (children sometimes enjoy visual variety and this could be such a time) Hmmm......what else? Oh grilled cheese was one of my favorite things to eat too when I was young. :)

I did this once with my youngest daughter when she was about 4. it was all down to an advert on TV. One particular day I asked her what she wanted for tea and she said the normal 'dunno' so I said choc ice -n- chips okay then, she laughed BUT that's what she got. Okay all you healthy people out there she didn't have it again it was just a bit of fun with her...that's the key, make food fun DO something totally unrealistic and you will find he will have fun with you. And get him involved in preparing his meals, turn it into a game BUT mainly let him have what he likes.

Ask him what he really like to eat. Then take to shop and make him to choose what he want to cook. ( not junk food) At home let him get involved in preparing the meal. It will be fun for him and he may like to eat what he prepared. You must tell him that you enjoyed the food too.
If he doesn't eat make him to drink penty of milk and nurishing drinks.

When my children were 4 years old they loved finger foods. My oldest son's favorite meal was a hamburger patty, no bun, mac & cheese, and cut up fruit.
