When I get insulting comments like that I just laugh.
No one knows your life and therefore really can't make intelligent comments about it!
Your "place" is wherever YOU want to be!

Not my husband, I cook maybe 1 meal a week.I thought that was why there were restaurants.

For military, chose for yourself, but & it is a big but. I believe there should be no special allowances given to women in military.
My son is Army Ranger, 6'2" & 185 ish, if you can not pick him up & remove him from battlefield if he is injured. Get a different career. No man left behind & particularly not my son. You must be able to do exactly what the emen can do & they make small allowances.

Jessica was not a hero, she got several soldiers killed trying to protect her because she could not unjam her gun & risked several others to go get her.I believe we are equal or better at a lot of jobs but some are brute strentgh jobs & that leaves me out. Managing people or doing any accounting work & I can take mostly anyone, but strentgh I can take most women.

Good luck in your choice. Stay out of kitchen - use take out. LOL

My place is in the kitchen as I`m the cook. I used to be in the Military. If you want to be in the military go for it and after you get out you can do as I did and take over the kitchen.

Listen, my wife is a soldier o.k! Not in the military, but she has the heart of a soldier. She is a red-bone with green eyes, she is German and black, and very, very, feminine as well as scrumptiously sexy! She has a Strong mind and isn't afraid to do things that may require her to use a little muscle. I see it as her way of saying that just because she's soo sexy, and pretty, that doesn't mean that she can't handle her own. Besides, the only limitations I would put on her are those of God and her conscience.

I don't think it's your place to be in the kitchen, but I know personally I would rather have a house wife. And I would marry a women who agreed with that.

"i just got three answers from three differant men saying that my place is in the kitchen not in the military!"

Well, are they educated? They probably aren't, that is why you get such an illiterate response.

Brush them off, you don't need to worry about what is written here, in anonimity. Go for your career.

This is America, you can do both. I am quite talented in the kitchen and my girlfriend really likes when I cook. She is culinary challenged and I guess I have spoiled her. So good for you for being in the military and being able to cook in the kitchen.

There is nothing wrong with a woman wanting to solely devote herself to domestic duties. However, if she wants to vie for a professional life, that is her prerogative. In her insistence in getting involved in the corporate world, she should not expect male dominated professions to coddle her, or make an special concession for her. If she wants to be involved in the professional world, she must meet the same standards as men and not expect the work environment to appease her sensitivities. I loath women who want the same benefits of working men, and yet also want to be accorded the special status and treatment reserved for women who took on traditional domestic roles. I am sorry, but you cannot have your cake and eat it too.

I don't feel like a woman's place in necessarily in the kitchen any more than I feel a man's place is in the garage.
I do believe it's a woman's primary responsibility is her children, and after that, she can do whatever rocks her boat.
