Hi Sweetie,
I am in the same situation you are.
My biological father left when I was 6 months old also and my mom remarried when I was 2. So I didnt even remember anything that had happened. I am now 38 and still have not been able to find my dad.
I have tried everything! Even a private investigator and nothing. So my heart goes out to you.
Is there anyway you can go to the hospital you were born in and ask for a copy of your birth RECORD and hospital medical records? His name and date of birth, etc etc will be on the birth record. If you cant go there, then write a letter stating that you want a copy of your birth record for medical reasons and mail it will a money order for $5.00 to cover any kind of charges they might have for making copies, etc and also include a self addressed stamped envelope. In the letter include your full name, birthdate, mom's maiden name, dad's full name, etc.
They have to give you this record if you are over 18. I hope this helps you.
I have been heartbroken over this for SOOOOOOO many years also, the fact that he hasnt tried to find his daughter(and he also has a son, my brother).
I am more than willing to help you and I also have other ideas and I also know of a woman in PA who has been helping me online to try and find my dad and I would be more than willng to share this info with you. Email me and I would love to help you.
My email is classic_chevy72@yaho.com
Good luck hon

Honey do you know your dadd's real name not his known nick name.do you know if he has brother's or sister's and then do you know if your mum had a picture of him in her personal belonging's.then get it and go to the family door.
if you know where he live's and his street name and dooor number will do you.the only resamblence you would have to your dad is if you don't look anything like your mum.
Honey, before you jump the gun please ask your mum and see what she has to tell you about him,if mum is slaggin him off don't think he's all she say's ok.just make sure you ask her nicely and she could end up tellin you everything you need to know.it's not gonna sound nice to her,but you have a right to know who it is.
my husband has 1 daughter he has only seen when she was 2 or 3 month's old and he had married someone else and had 4 kid's to her.18year's later he married me.
i have met just 2 of his son's.and the rest don't even want to know him.
he's not a nice father.so your lucky your mum gave you all the love she had and never let you miss out on anything.
don't try to push yourself too far looking because you could end up hurt then sorry for yourself.
try the eletrol and the phone book, just find the addresses match the same number and area,
good luck honey hope he does have the bottle to face you with the truth.and i hope you do find what your looking for.
ask mummy 1st is my advice to you.

Look somewhere along the line your biological father gave up his parental rights to you. That was when probably social services got involved. That was when a decision was made to sever his parental rights to you. One way you can get a start is to find your "orignal" birth certificate, yes it has who your biological father is on that document, unless your mother decided not to have it put on there. I think the government keeps copies of old tax returns, if you can get some identifying document with say a social security number, drivers license you can find out in a skinny minute where he is. Lastly you can hire a lawyer, and he can go through the legal proceedings to go to the social services to find out this information. The documents may be sealed, if they are then the lawyer will have to go through the legal proceedings to find out your information. Lastly here is a chance you might get lucky on if you can find out the year your mother and your biological father were married, the original marriage license certificate should be in the courthouse of the city or county where you live. They keep all marriage documents along with divorce decrees. Those are several options. Hope they are of a little help to you. Good luck to you.

I met my father for the 1st time when I was 17, for 20 whole minutes, I then left it alone, he is now dead, I met my 1/2 brother and sister when I was 38, I will never have those questions I had as a kid answered, so you need to ask your mom many questions and never give up in trying to find him, I found my brother on yahoo phone directory, and my bio dads wife, and I called her, got some things answered but not all, email me if you want more info,

If you have his name and a rough idea of where he is/was, start with the electoral register for that area. You can see a copy in the council offices.
You can also use phone books but it might take a long time to call every "John Smith" ... but it could just be that you hit lucky!
Good luck!

If you have questions about yourself, it is perfectly okay. If you have his name to go by, you have a lot of information that many don't. Try anywho.com and search his name by state or other links on that page. Remember, if he doesn't want to answer to your request it will be hard not to feel bad, but at least you tried. We cannot force people to do things they don't want. God knows you have tried. Good luck to you!
