Well... I have met my ex husband in the internet. I guess the word 'ex' says it all doesnt it :-D
I am not against internet dating. I will never do it again, but I guess that if you use the internet to meet someone from your city, or a city nearby, the same kind of person you could meet at a bar, etc. so what could the problem be? Only if you meet people that are very different, very far away, etc, you should be more careful.

I did! I met my husband online. We had a mutual friend who lives in Canada and he actually introduced us. We both have medical problems that are almost identical and have had brain surgeries that are similar. We talked for hours the first time we chatted online and it was a snowball effect from there on in!! We talked for months by internet, phone and letters. Soon , I flew to meet him and we got engaged. We had already discussed possible marriage on the phone, as we had both been looking for someone just like the other one was... It was crazy but we both actually had friends that KNEW the other person so we could confer with THEM about the other one! IT was like, if we had waited , we would have probably met eventually, even though we were halfway across the country from each other.
IT all worked out well and in October We will celebrate our 7th year of marriage.
How's that for online love? Its crazy, and a major risk, but stranger things have happened!!

I met someone through our local newspapers' online personals. We dated seriously for over 5 years. I've been currently hanging out with a guy from the net for about three months now. It's going well!
It works but you just have trust your instincts.

Actually, I met my husband through one of the online dating services. We were not living in the same city at the time, and dated for a year before getting married this past Valentine's Day.
Also, one of my best friends met her husband through one of the online dating services.........it is something that can work!!!

And I must say I'm rather hot, and very successful in work... though I chose internet cuz I've noticed that it's alot safer than meeting guys in the pub!
I'm with this guy who's very smart and gorgeous, we met on the net, I'm so happy!!
