The Spirit of Chicago dinner cruise may be a little different and romantic. The skyline is so beautiful.

Sabatino's Restaurant & Lounge
4441 W Irving Park Rd
Chicago , IL 60641
Phone: (773) 283-8331
Sabatino's on Irving Park is a classic Chicago Italian-American restaurant that in my book takes the trifecta of dining out: charm, class and excellent food. Tuxedoed hosts, a gorgeous glass wine cellar in the dining room, romantic, semi-private dining "grottoes," strolling musicians, and old-school tableside presentations like Chateaubriand for Two and flaming desserts like Baked Alaska all make this a very special night out. And also one that won't break the bank -- Wednesday night at Sabatino's gets you Lobster dinner for under $20, the prices are absurdly reasonable for the quality and quantity of food that you get.

I would like to recommend you a couple of places that are favorites of mine; Carnaval in Downtown serves a Latin style plate. They offer everything from Carne Asada to Guacamole. This place is up scale and the price are up there with it. The second place I would like to recommend would be Leona's on the North Side and family owned Italian restaurant filled with a great atmosphere. Lastly, my favorite place to eat....Cafe Iberico on Lincoln Ave in Chicago near the Rock N' Roll McDonald's. I recommend you arrive early on the weekends. This place is known for their Queso de Cabra or Goat Cheese, with some marinera sauce, I also recommend you try the Pincho de Salomio which is basically scured steak over fries with caramelized onions. MMMMM now I'm hungry, enjoy!

Downtown: Chicago Chop House or Geja's Cafe (fondue)
Oak Brook Terrace: Redstone American Grill (very romantic and the best filet mignon
Also by Oak Brook Mall is Wildfire Grill for steaks at a pretty reasonable price and it's romantic.

Amended below
Good restaurant that won't break the bank....good luck. If you have $125 to spend, go to a nice steak house, like Mortons, Weber or check Metromix.com.
Ooooooh....just thought of another. In the Hancock building, the signature room never disappoints. It's on like the 95th floor and overlooks the lake, Very nice at night.

Being a "connoisseur" of prime rib and fine dining in the US and internationally, we have come to the conclusion that NO ONE has prime rib like that of Banderia's on Michigan Ave in the Citicorp Bank Building...ambiance (over looking Michigan Ave) with excellent soft jazz live entertainment that doesn not drown out conversations, phenomenal side dishes that are presented with flair, to say nothing about excellent service!
...also... have you tried Riva's at Navy Pier? ...chateau briand (Filet Mignon surrounded by various delectably prepared side vegetables) and various fresh fish entrees are beyond description.
...if your are watching the budget and still want sohpisticated dining and a romantic atmosphere at Riva's ...omit the entrees (or split one if you're really hungry!)...try sharing several appetizers ...and perhaps...if you've still room...share a dessert!...
...you will find the appetizers are very filling!...
...we've found that sharing appetizers becomes a most romantic and sensual experience!...smile!... 'especially... if you choose to remain at one of the little tables by the floor to ceiling windows in the bar...very cozy and scenic while overlooking the lake!..by the way...if you choose the bar area, be sure to ask for the server, "Mary Ellen!" (she may be on maternity...but soon to return...she'll make your evening one you will not forget!)...we actually choose sitting in the bar area even for dinner as it is very romantic...and Mary Ellen's a excellent server!
Best wishes!

Rosebud. Great Italian food.
Go to the original on Taylor St. and ask to be seated near Sinatra's table.
Frank Sinatra used to always sit at the same table, and they cordoned it off with some cool pictures. I think you can sit there as well, but its a truly awesome place!

Tango Sur.
It is a great Argentinian steakhouse. Very inexpensive and it is BYOB.
They do not take reservations, so if you go on the weekend, go early or expect to wait. But expect to have the most AMAZING steak in the city!!
It is located near Wrigleyville.

You might want to try Miller Pub. It is located right off the corner of Wabash and Adams. 107 S. Wabash. They have great food and the atmosphere is fun and very reasonably price. They are none for their great Ribs and the have to die for Cajun Prime Rib.
