You cannot enjoy your food then, lingering, tasting, the food is part of the eating process. If you stand up, while eating, it's not as enjoyable, more of hor'derves than anything then.

I don't think there's anything wrong with eating while standing up. The food is all going to your belly anyway, so why it should matter? Sometimes I eat standing up because I don't feel like sitting down, if I'm at home, and it doesn't effect me at all. So I don't think there's much to worry about.

Kinda depends on where you are at the time...
On a street corner eating a hot dog - sitting is NOT a good idea, you get stepped on and God knows what you might sit in/on!
In a bar at Happy Hour - stand and wander is the rule!
At home having a nice meal with the family - if you stand and eat your Mama might have to slap ya!
Biologically speaking, it's all going South anyway - do whatever!

That's the first time I ever heard that question. There is no real problem eating while standing. It is a matter of comfort as well as convenience and nothing wrong with it at all.

I've never heard that there is anything wrong with standing up while eating. It doesn't affect your body in any way, it's just a matter of comfort I suppose.

I've heard (and found) that eating while standing makes you wolf your food down faster. Then you feel bloated if you're trying to down a whole sandwich. But for appetizers at a cocktail party you're only taking little bites while mingling so it's not as uncomfortable.
(As long as you don't scarf down the entire platter of buffalo wings!) :)
