I understand that health is a concern - and it should be. But I think most people are just thinking about their physical image and what others will think of them. It just bothers me that people who are NO WHERE NEAR overweight are obsessed with dieting, calories intake, etc. People who are, like 100 lbs. that eat salads and drink Diet Cokes - it just irks me... whatever...

The people who think gaining 5 lbs. is a fate worse than death are usually , in my opinion, are the people who are trying to stay on top of what the models look like in many of these fashion magazines. Let's face it folks the models don't always look like the models in the magazines. It's put into your head that's what you're suppose to look like and that's down right sad.

I weigh 120 lbs. And I know I am not fat but I have gained about 10 lbs in the last six months...The reason it bothers me is because My mom is overweight and she used to be a skinny minny...And I know if i need to be concerned about it the right time would be now, Because my metabolism is slowing down and if i don't start eating healthy then I will keep gaining. I am concerned about the way i look because when I don't feel pretty i get depressed. So that is why I get concerned cause I don't want to be 300 lbs one day!

gaining a little weight is not serious.. actually a new study came out earlier this week that said people who were slightly over weight, but that DID NOT HAVE type 2 diabetes lived longer than people at normal, healthy weights.. the big problem is that many people don't stop with just a few pounds and that those few pounds usually aren't from healthy foods.. people lose sight of what is truly important.. being healthy... and instead focus on a number. mostly i believe (and you don't have to agree with me) it's a product of media and gullibility in our society.
