Protein, Protein, Protein...if you are looking to tone or beef up, you need to eat a lot of protein-filled foods like fish, beef, and eggs. A good diet plan is starting off with an egg breakfast (1 to 3) and then have some fruit between breakfast and lunch. For lunch, have a protein shake that is low on calories followed up with another mini-snack. For dinner, have either low-fat beef (steak or ground up) or some fish...if you follow a diet like that with exercise you'll gain muscle in no time.

A diet very high in protein. Eat 6 small meals daily rather than 3 large ones. And instead of a snack full of carbs, get a smoothie with extra protein.

Protien & lots of it! Foods such as chicken, beef, fish. Tuna has the leanest form of protien and has a high amount of protien as well. Just remember that your body can only digest about 40grams every 2 hrs. So try to eat every 2 hours 40grams of protien or 20 grams every hour. If your full then buy protien shake mix.
Good luck

Like everyone else has said, PROTEIN!! A good rule of thumb when youre trying to gain is eat 1g per pound, so if you weight 175 lbs, you should be eating 175g of protein per day. Make sure it's lean (read: healthy) protein. If you dont know how to count your grams, go to www.thedailyplate.com and record what you eat. They'll count your protein for you.
