I here they are about to launch a new 1.8R (Apparently now known as the citi golf and not golf1)version to remake the golf 1 gti.however I am uncertain about which country it is.Can you please provide me with pictures of this citi 1.8R.Ive also heard they are currently celebrating its 21st year of production as the citi golf

All the above are wrong. The Citi Golf (based on the MK1) is currently produced in South Africa. The website has some great info and pics for you. Quote. Car looks awesome compared to today's model, I want one!

I believe it is assembled in Brazil. I have a 2004 Golf that was made in Brazil. I live in Argentina.

Yeah probably Brazil, they build their own VWs even in kit form!
and not from the factory either! check out www.volkswagen.com.br maybe they have what you are after.
