i have been wearing a weave for about 2 yrs. and i havent really been perming my hair on regular basis. i have recently started to wear my own hair, but once i hot curl it or wet set it, it frizzes so bad! i have been doing touch ups but they dont seem to work so i just wanna know do i have to start from scratch and do a virgin perm to get the straightness back again and to prevent the frizzness. thanks.

What did your hairdresser suggest? He or she is the expert.

Relaxers are permanent, just like permanent dye. That means unless you have cut out all of your relaxed hair then it still remains.

There is no such thing as a virgin perm/relaxer. When the word virgin is used it is referring to your hair not the relaxer. Virgin hair is hair that is not relaxed. And you are to apply relaxer to hair root to ends. Since this does not apply to you, you should countinue with touch ups.

It seems that you have been applying your relaxer incorrectly, and may have damage. You should see a professional that can examine your hair and give you treatment advice. And might be best for them to also apply your relaxers.

I never heard of a virgin perm? You first need to remove the damage ends and until your hair is healthly again then apply a perm on it.

Go for a consultation at a hair salon, because just because you describe it, a professional needs to use their senses and knowledge to tell you what is best for your hair. Some salons have free consultations.
