if you havnt dated lots of men the past 4 years why would you think youll magically start doing it now. However dont just settle down with a guy for the sake of doing it. If hes right for you fine if not move on . Only you know in your heart if hes the one.

Follow your heart. That's all you can do in this situation. If you don't give it a go you'll always wonder 'what might have been' with this man. On the other hand if you settle down you might envy the fun you're friends are having. So do what feels right for you, right now. Contrary to what many people say there will be other opportunities, other men will come along or if it doesn't work out then you can always go back to having fun (I know, I've done it), either decision is not the end.

How old are you, and how many relationships have you had before this?

I was the first serious girlfriend my husband ever had, and even when you subtract my mental/emotional issues that make everything worse than it really is, that thought *still* makes me nervous. I have every intention of proving I was a worthwhile catch, but it's still hard sometimes for me to believe that he really knew what he wanted in a woman when he found me, since he never really had a chance to figure out what he *didn't* want (by dint of a few failed relationships before).

You said you've been single for 4 years. If in your past you have dated lots, or at the very least interacted with lots of guy friends, then it's probably safe to settle down with this one for as long as it lasts. But if you've tended to hang with the girls and not really deal with the other half of the species, then definitely don't make any plans to cohabitate.

My personal observation of women and the difference their age makes.

I find young woman(18-29) like to play the field, have many boyfriends etc etc

Once they reach 30 + its a different story-They seem scared they'll be lonley old husks and then accept just about anything thats going that will marry them and give them a baby.
This only applies to average to ugly looking girls as the good lookers always know someone will pick them up.

Answer your own question. If you were single for 4 years what did you do? Play the field? Are your friends afraid of losing contact if you see more of this guy? Did they form relationships when you were single? Live your life as you see fit.

thats entirely up to you hun! If you like this guy then I think you should persue it!
Dating lots of men is fun too - but if you've been single for four years then you've had lots of fun!
I think if you like him and he likes you then you should give it a go - good luck xx

Do what's in your heart to do. Don't listen to your friends. Friends can often be wrong as well as right. Go with what you feel is comfortable, and which ever way that is, will be the right way for you.
