People who have multiple cats and/or are more engrossed with their cat(s) than normal pet owners seem to have a certain characteristic to their personality that I just can't describe. There also seems to be a relationship between these folks and latex allergies. I know it sounds crazy but I work in a hospital and see from 20-40 different patients daily. There are strange similarities among the "cat people" and latex allergy patients. Quite a few of these "cat people" are also latex allergy patients. Just curious if anyone else out there has noticed any of this?

While I have no empirical evidence of latex allergies in relation to cat owners, I have noticed that what you say is true about cat owners, or I should say people that are owned by cats. I have 2 daughters that love cats and they are both a bubble off center when it comes to the cats. One thing I have noticed about cat people, they don't seem to think anything about the cats coming from a litter box and jumping on the kitchen counter whether they are preparing food or otherwise....they seem to refuse to believe anything is bad about cats

I'm actually a "cat person", and I have no latex issues. I have 11 cats(a lot, I know!) and they are all my babies. People are amazed at how much I love my cats. People say my cats get treated better than most children in the world do. I'm not a "cat collector" or anything like that. I'm just an animal lover. I also have 3 dogs. All but one of my cats have been rescued from abusive situations or have been strays. I actually just rescued 2 little kittens a few weeks ago, which brought me up to 11 cats.
I think some "cat people" can be a little "strange", but not necessarily all. The stereotypical middle-aged crazy cat lady who has 30 cats and lives all alone in a little house in the woods and hates all people isn't what all cat lovers are like. I'm 18 years old, in college(to work in the mental health field), and I'm just a huge animal lover. Animal welfare is a big passion of mine and it has been since I was 11 or 12.
If I knew specifically what characteristics you're talking about, I might be able to give a little more insight.

Yes, I'm in the mental health field and people who are all into cats are weird. Definitely apart from the norm. Kinda eccentric.

Just like I knew whenever anyone walked into the psych hospital with an animal of some sort on the front of their sweatshirt... probably a borderline personality disorder.

I guess anything fanatical is strange. A dog fanatic can be equally strange as a cat fanatic. The important thing is to strike a balance in everything you do and not slip into an obsession.

I have a latex allergy and I hate cats. Not really seeing your connection.

Anyone who is a fanatic about anything can be a little strange. When you take your enjoyment of anything to a fanatic or obsessive level, it starts to look a little crazy. You can only get away with that if you are a kid. Kids are always obsessed with something - Batman, or whatever.

Hey! I have 2 cats that I love like babies and I don't think I'm strange at all! Cats are wonderful and loving pets.

How many times will you ask this? Do you have a cat, or a person who owns a cat fetish?

Considering you have asked this question now 5 times, YOU are the one who is strange. In fact you ask ALL your questions repeatedly.

Maybe you need to get better questions.
