Get a couple of other people in the office to go to lunch and invite her to come along. It will be the perfect opportunity for you to act interested and her to feel less threatened. You can get to know her and eventually if interested, go alone.

I feel you. You have had crush for almost two years, you feel sick when she dosen't come to work? 25 and 32 isn't that great an age difference but it is one and that adds to your dilemma. Poor thing :)
Here is what you are going to have to do, walk up and say hello and introduce yourself properly and ask if she has a minute. Proceed with directly letting her know that you are interested in getting to know her outside the office and if she open to getting to know you on a more personal level. If she is open to acquiring a friend that may led to a relationship.
That will be enough and either way with that approach you should still be to work there should she not be interested and become even a little more friendly with one another.
There is nothing wrong with being a little shaken and fearful no matter what your age is when it comes to the woman of your dreams as you describe this young lady to be. All those who tell you to grow up and grow a pair, have nothing substanstial to offer a woman of which you describe and could careless what they say or how they appear. So it is easy for them throw stones.
But in all honesty, almost two years is a while and if that is not in the plan... you do need to step up, because what is going to happen is, one these idiots telling you grow a pair is going to walk up to her and say something stupid and for lack of being alone, if she is, she will bite.
Hope this helps, Good luck, and I feel you.

It's a little confusing to me: you say you are a popular guy in your office, and still you feel so insecure to go and talk to her...
Just walk up to her (and her friends), and just ask if she has a minute, take her aside and tell her you'd like to get to know her better... Ask if she's interested in a drink, after work...
And why should you be ridiculed at the office??? Don't worry about that. Just talk to her, and see if she's interested too. If not, then at least you know, and you can move on with your life...

Sounds like you are SERIOUSLY in like! :) From a girl point of view, I can't resist it when a guy asks for help with something. You think maybe you could ask for help finding a good mechanic, a great place to buy flowers for your Mom's birthday, help picking out a present for someone else you know...? Get the drift? Then, in appreciation, offer a lunch or something non-threatening like that. Maybe a coffee or cappucino at Starbucks. That will be your opportunity to find out if she's interested in you.
One hint... DON'T make up a fictional relative to get her help with buying presents or whatever. It's gotta be real.
That's about the best ice-breaker I can think of!
If you're really nervous and want to know if she's interested, then tell her you're nervous because you've really been attracted for a long time, and hadn't the courage to speak up before now. The truth is very becoming to you!
Good luck!
Ivy
PS... email me if it works? :)

Im not sure if this will help but here it goes....most guys that i find attractive are super confident in the actions they are about to make. You are scared and she can see straight through you!!! One day when shes in her circle of friends and has her back turn towards you maybe you should walk up behind her and touch her hand (if its at her side) then whisper in her ear " can I talk to you for a second?" then its all you! You just need to make the first move!

Go right up to her and tell her you need to talk abt something. Then take her aside and ask her out. That will at least end the confusion for you. Dont worry abt her friends or people. We understand when a guy approaches a girl, its okay and as opposed to what you may think, we actually admire his courage and dont go around giggling behind his back.

Senario2 : secredly arrange with common friends a big meeting and by accident....you get to meet each other.
Senario3: May be she has a bf and just dont want to let you get the wrong message. Not that she dont like u....she likes you a lot if you are what you discribe, who would'nt anyway. If thats the case please move along. Only you can take good care of yourself, dont let yourself get involve in a fantasy. There are alot of similar girls out there.

Count to ten and take a deep breath. Just go up to her and introduce yourself and whom ever she's with. What about asking them out to lunch or if they would like to join you for lunch. This will give you the chance to get to know her a little better. If they say 'no thanks' then at leat you made an effort. Who know's if they do the same old lunch routine they may enjoy the change and say 'yes'.

You really need to be careful when you are persuing co-workers. An office relationship can not only dirupt your personal life, but also you work-life. I'm not saying you shouldn't go after what you want, but if it doesn't go like you think it should, things could get ugly for you both. Use your own judgement as far as going after what you want, but do it with caution. Good Luck!!

Well, you sure are shy for 32 years. It's kind of cute. She'd probably like that. Invite her to lunch, or just a quick coffee break.
If you're popular like you say you are you shouldn't have a problem. I think you're just feeling a little love sick, so it's keeping you from being yourself. Have confidence, and remember who you are.........take a chance big guy......
Good luck! !
