and which is the worst you've ever tried? I always used to get it done now economically i need to try it myself. Do I need any tips?

Always go for a big brand, not a store name brand.
I prefer Garnier, I find it to be very gentle, but a quick word with all the girls around the office, and the majority vote is on Loreal for being the best, as far as color and gentleness goes.
I've heard of people really damaging their hair badly buying brand names they are not familiar with, just to save money. Buy a more expensive product. The extra money is like insurance.

L'OREAL PREFERENCE or EXCELLANCE. I've used both for years & never disappointed! the worst=cheap store brands/off brands.

the worst i ever tried was loreal natual instincts. the best was herbal essences.
