Yes, I do know a friend that is having it done. Although it costs him $125 a month for 4 to 6 months.

But it's not a life long cure, it wears off and you will have to have it done again.
If you hate shaving that much try one of the creams women use on their legs.
Actually no, not legs, try one of the bikini line creams, the leg ones will probably burn your face
