If you tell me that you believe in heaven and people like Hitler, as long as they confessed their sins before they die might be there. I wouldn't think that's heaven. Not to mention, so many of the self-righteous bigots claim to be going there, and I'd rather not deal with them... so doesn't sound too heavenly to me.

Nah--the idea of never having sex again, singing hyms, and hanging out with the likes of the bigots on this board doesn't appeal to me either.

As Jean-Paul Sartre said, "Hell is other people". There is no hell for the godnazis to condemn me to after death, but hearing them say it everyday while I'm alive _is_ hell.

As an atheist, the worst punishment I can envision is not death. (Tthat doesn't mean I'm in a hurry to die; life is a one-way trip to the worm farm.)

Rather, my "hell" would be a life that is nothing more than "killing time": life in prison without parole, having a disease like Multiple Scleroris or ALS, living a lifetime under a brutal dictatorship, or being uneducated/unintelligent and working a McJob forever. The thought of living a life without a purpose or accomplishment is repulsive.

Hitler is not going to heaven, he committed suicide.

All humanity is now involved in a great controversy between Christ and Satan regarding the character of God, His law, and His sovereignty over the universe. This conflict originated in heaven when a created being, endowed with freedom of choice, in self-exaltation became Satan, God's adversary, and led into rebellion a portion of the angels. He introduced the spirit of rebellion into this world when he led Adam and Eve into sin. This human sin resulted in the distortion of the image of God in humanity, the disordering of the created world, and its eventual devastation at the time of the worldwide flood. Observed by the whole creation, this world became the arena of the universal conflict, out of which the God of love will ultimately be vindicated. To assist His people in this controversy, Christ sends the Holy Spirit and the loyal angels to guide, protect, and sustain them in the way of salvation. (Rev. 12:4-9; Isa. 14:12-14; Eze. 28:12-18; Gen. 3; Rom. 1:19-32; 5:12-21; 8:19-22; Gen. 6-8; 2 Peter 3:6; 1 Cor. 4:9; Heb. 1:14.)

That is hard...
I have a joke, but do not think I mock your dilemma. Just as an example that a heaven for someone can mean the hell for other man.
A man dies, and somewhere THERE he meets St.Peter. And he says:
-You were a good man, I will show you all we have here, and you will get the knowledge about heaven and hell.
They go and see an old, wrinkled man with a beautifull , naked girl.
-This is Heaven - Peter says.,
They go further and see exactly the same situation!
-This is Hell - Peter says.
The guy is suprised:
-There was no difference! How is that??
-The first - it was heaven for that good old man. The second - the hell for that sinful girl!

No. No. No. John McCain. Refused particular clinical care even as he develop right into a POW. would not leave his fellow American prisoners behind. there are a variety of of different similar memories of POWs performing a similar, as well. also all yet 2 of the unique disciples of Christ (Judas hung himself and John lived to a ripe previous age) were tortured and killed fairly than compromising themselves and recanting what they believed. And limitless different Christian martyrs did a similar. no longer to teach Jesus the Christ, himself. i do not imagine human beings pick to bypass to hell or inevitably might want to...yet i imagine those who do not position self assurance in hell and/or refuse to consider that God might want to be who God is, might want to finally end up there. i imagine that's a tragedy and that's heartbreaking. enable me make it sparkling that i'm no longer judging all and sundry.

Firstly, it is more complicated than simply confessing sins. One must accept Jesus as the atoning sacrifice for their sins, yes. But the thing about salvation is that when Christ comes to live in your heart, you change. You WANT to change. You want to have the will of God, you want to please Him. I am not saying that deathbed conversions cannot happen, but only God knows the real heart of men. If a person is truly saved by God just as they die, only God knows.

Secondly people are not perfect. This is why we need Christ. One cannot expect Christians to be perfect, only trying to be. It is not fair to judge people Christians as "self-righteous bigots" when you are not accepting everyone yourself.

Thirdly, in heaven, God perfects us.

Well let us see what Hell would be like...it is the complete opposite of God.

"God is with you" (Isaiah 45:14) God is not there.
"God is love" (1 John 4:16) There is no love.
"Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres." (1 Corinthians 13:4-7) There is no patience or kindness, only envy, pride, rudeness, anger, and boasting. No protection, trust, hope, or perseverance.
"God is not a God of disorder but of peace" (1 Corinthians 14:33) There is only disorder and chaos and struggle.
"God is full of compassion" (Psalm 116:5) There is no compassion.
"God is a merciful God" (Deuteronomy 4:31) There is no mercy.
"God is merciful and forgiving" (Daniel 9:9) Again, no mercy, and no forgiveness.
"God is faithful" (2 Corinthians 1:18) There is no faithfulness.
"God is light" (1 John 1:5) There is no light, only a more complete darkness than you can ever imagine.
"God is my rock" (2 Samuel 22:3) There is no safety, nothing to bring you rest
"God is truthful" (John 3:33) There is no truth, only lies and deceit.
"God is giving" (Many times in Deuteronomy) There is no giving, only taking.
"God is just" (2 Thessalonians 1:6) There is nothing fair.

That doesn't seem like much fun to me...Trust me, I am not trying to scare anyone, I don't believe the scare tactic works. I am just trying to make you see what it is really like.

I hope this helps. If you have any questions, you're more than welcome to e-mail me.

Perhaps Hitler was mentally ill and was not even responsible for his actions in life. If that was the case, would he even need to confess?

Regardless of your judgments of other people, heaven is what it is. One must take it or leave it according to their own free will.

Yes, heaven sounds not only boring, but also filled with people I probably wouldn't want to be around anyway. I'll pass.

Indeed, both law law "heavens" on "high" are notably both a "fall" into the "hands" of law law God on high the heavens (a fall from grace above such law law), and a "fearful" thing having torment.

Confessed sin makes sinners all, none righteous, no, not one. God is one. We all are one... but not one proselyte they all are.

Let them, who would be (willingly) ignorant, be ignorant, and thereby have "their end" shall be according to "their works".

Let us, who would not be ignorant, "go on unto perfection":

The GRACE of our Lord Jesus Christ WITH YOU ALL. AMEN.
