Should I force myself to have breakfast if I'm not hungry. Would having a big breakfast help me to lose weight. How about you: do you normally have breakfast or do you skip it?

Actually yes, having breakfast, even a light one, will help in weight loss. When you go for long stretches without eating, or miss a meal, your metabolism slows down to conserve energy, so you are not burning calories you take in. You're better off having six small meals a day for weight loss purposes. You don't have to have a big breakfast. A bowl of cereal (with or without fruit), an egg and toast, are enough to give your day a bright start. No toaster pastries or other high-sugar treats - that's dessert!

Another rationale for breakfast is that it's brain food. 19% of the carbs you take in go to fuel the brain. Feed your brain!

If you're not hungry in the morning, try not snacking the night before. When do you last have something to eat at night? Say, 9 p.m.? Push it back to 7 p.m. You are more likely to wake up hungry and looking for your oatmeal!

I've just lost 75 pounds. Here's how:

I stopped eating my biggest meal at night and positively no snacking after 7 p.m. If you do this, you'll start to be hungry in the morning.
Then I would eat protein (like eggs or yogurt), and make sure I had a little protein (at least 4 ounces) at every meal.
I avoid starches and carbs because your body converts them into sugar instead of burning off your fat. Then I walked twice a day, (not very far at first, but as time passed I was able to walk 5 miles a day). Then for only 5 minutes a day (while I watch TV) I would work out my arms with simple 5 pound weights I bought at Wal-Mart. Drink 8 glasses of water a day also, because a lot of times when you think you are hungry, your body (stomach included) just needs water. Good luck!

I am also not a big breakfast person. What I have done is to break it up. I always make sure I have SOMETHING before I leave in the morning...either a piece of toast or fruit or a cup of yogurt. Then later in the morning I have something with protein, like an egg.

I have found that it helps a great deal to eat something in the morning when trying to lose weight.

if you dont eat your body uses up muscle reserves before it goes to the fat. you always have to eat something. eating breakfast makes sure that your body has energy and doesnt need to go to the muscles for it. a good breakfast is a way for your body to get ready for the day and in turn youll have the energy to do the activities to burn the calories. if you miss breakfast youre more likely to be less active across the morning hours and burn less calories. just a tip... good luck.

A big breakfast is not what your supposed to eat, it's just breakfast in general to jump start your metabolism. Oatmeal is the best for you in the morning.
