I am a 15 year old male and I have been homeschooled for all my school and I sometimes wish I could just be in public school for just one year.

I was home schooled too. I also wished to go to public school and when I was allowed to go I didnt like it much. It seemed like all of the other people at school were interested in clothes and boys and cars and money or at least what something cost. I couldnt keep up with the trends or the in fighting between different cliques. I went back home and went to college away. It was much better than high school. I wish you luck.

I am currently homeschooling, and the only time i wish I was in public school is when i'm really bored, cause basically i sit at home and get good grades. But i think if i started public school right now, i wouldn't fit in socially, because a few times i've met teens who attend public high school, and boy are they...different. They talk about things that i wouldnt be comfortable talking about, and do (different) things also. I just hope im not missing out on too much and that i'll be ok in college.

i know exactly how you feel. when i was 12or 13 i wanted to go to public school sooooo bad. my parents finally let me go for a year and let me tell you, your really not missing out on much. ok, so you get to be around other people a lot more, but that isn't always a good thing. i learned that it's really all about the attitude. if you have a bad attitude about homeschooling then you won't like it, but if you have a good attitude then you will like it. i ended up homeschooling all through highschool, and really liked it. just work hard and get into college. once in collge you'll have plenty of opportunities to meet new people, trust me i'm a freshman. think about it this way- while homeschooling, you get to concentrate on making good grades without all of the pressure of public highschool, so you can get into a good college and already have good study habbits, then you can do good in college and have a good social life at the same time. i hope this helps

i grow to be homeschooled my entire existence (now 22 yrs) and whilst i grow to be nonetheless being homeschooled, i had to a minimum of journey college...the whole atmosphere and camaraderie. I went to a vo-tech (fairly close...i might propose in case you have an interest) and then directly to a junior college for 2 associate tiers. those presented a great number of interaction and the ambience of a team coaching ecosystem. Now that i'm 'all grown up' and working, married, etc....i'm SOOO grateful that i did not ever bypass to public college.....It grow to be complicated to be homeschooled and not have the on a regular basis 'social' stuff, yet interior the tip it may pay off exceptionally. while you're bored/prefer social interaction outdoors your place see in the experience that your discern(s) will connect a homeschool team or co-op. in case you bypass to church or different non secular entity, you may make buddies and function relaxing there...... If the prefer to be in college is unquestionably extremely stable according to probability you may ask your discern(s) to sign up you next twelve months or perhaps on the single million/2-semester mark to work out the form you do. you are able to continually 'drop out' and return to homeschooling! that's the best for you besides! =D My 2 cents...........

One year in high school would either make you happy that you were home schooled or unhappy that you could not enjoy the people, atmosphere, club. sports, lunch room fun, fun and joking on the bus or sports bus, field trips with teams or clubs.

The senior year everyone is like family! (our high school had less that 900 students.) there was so much fun. Like the only way to band class was out thought the garden!!. In the winter a quick snowball fight, if caught you were in dentition! I will remember all my fun times. My special friends are still with me at college or a college close by so we spend any time we can together. Last week we all went to Canada, the past summer 8 of us rented a condo on the beach for one week. I hope to remain friends with these people forever and to keep in touch by cell or email.

I was publically educated and wish I were homeschooled! Public education where I live is terrible!!! I'm homeschooling my children, but if they ask to try public school, I promised my hubby I'd like them enroll.

Tell your mom that you'd like to participate in High School, you can join extracarricular activities even if you don't regularly attend; I'm sure you're mom knows all this..Get out there and live a life! If not you'll be socially retarded, could face a tough time making friends, meeting girls, and in the bigger picture doing well in University and getting a job. You'll need to be able to express yourself, stand up for yourself, and mature as a person, that includes everything from Team Playing, standing in line alone at the cafeteria, no more grilled cheese from mom's kitchen.
I'm not totally against the "concept" of Home Schooling, but usually ....well I'll keep my comments to myself. Get the word out, you'd like to attend High School!! You'll love it!

Me? Never! I hate private and public schools alike. Though on everything I was a straight A student I would never trade my homeschooling for public, private, but for me possibly Moriarty Schools.
